Comfort Inn audits

Anyone done any of these? I went today and no one had a clue about the audit, even with my letter of authorization they refused to let me do the audits. Talk about a wasted day.

Why is that wasted? I've always gotten paid full price for every denied audit I've done.

OP You just made money on a horrible shop audit that you would have been paid @#$%& for the time involved if allowed. I would be celebrating good times comon

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Hope you will get the full pay. Your better off not being able to take the 15 to 45 pictures for the little pay.
I reported on a different thread that I completed ONE of the Comfort Inn shops and uploaded 186 pictures, NOT 15-45 as stated in the job description. The location was a pretty hotel, but not one thing inside matched the "new" look, so I had to take photos of everything in all five rooms, plus the lobby and dining areas. I got royally screwed on that job! I do not recommend anyone take the job at $20, or even $45. This is a $50-75 job. If you are desperate for money, at least call the location first to see if they have recently renovated the hotel. Otherwise, you are in for a disaster like I faced.
I have found that the time and work involved in audits is consistently underestimated in email descriptions. I've been burned 3 times and I now double what they say for time. If the money isn't there...(it never is)...I delete. I understand they won't get a nibble if they tell the truth, but I am insulted by how they get away with these lowball offers for misrepresented amount of work involved.
I just did one yesterday. After what I went through, I would have loved for them to refuse it!! I was there over two hours, took 9000 pictures! This is a audit that needs to pay a lot more than $20.
What company are you using that would send you without knowing an accurate estimate of the work to be done, i.e. Audit?

Ahhh forgive me, I am a newbie. I work for an MSP and was making sure it wasnt my company dropping the ball. I know we have audit work at RBG and we are making lucrative holiday offers, make sure and check us out. Also, it's retail so no motel surprises!

You aren't supposed to name the Company as the Client has already been named. You should edit to remove this.

We didnt name the MSP... I named the one I work for who does not have this client.

I wish they'd drop the $70,000 requirement. A dozen of these shops within driving distance of me, and no other shoppers! While $20 each isn't much, I could do 5 a day. Too bad!

I have done two these. One was in town and the other was only 15 miles away. The two of them took all day, a very long day. What other shoppers have said is true. The questionnaire is tedious and they will take you at least two hours each but the upload time while keeping it all straight is very time consuming. I have a few more within driving distance of me but they will have to be heavily bonused before I will do them.

Since you don't meet the 70K requirement this is not really directed at you, but 5 a day would be some Xtreme auditing.

That requirement struck me as seriously delusional. No one who pulls down $70k a year got to that level of income by doing a full day's worth of work for $20. It's probably a client requirement so that no one who lacks a professional look goes to conduct the audit, but when offering $20, they'll likely get exactly what they paid for.
I have done plenty of hotel audits, a couple hours on site, lots of photos, long reports. Never had anyone question my "professional" appearance, never ran into an income requirement. And I generally get over
$100 for each audit. Of course, they are generally out in the middle of nowhere, so there's usually significant drive time/distance. Guess I'll be skipping these. Thanks for all the info. They do sound a nightmare!

Look into Audits with Reality Based Group. We have retail audits as high at $50 per sheet with bonuses right now www.realitybasedgroup.com.

With all due respect, you can post these on the job board section here.
These are not high paying. These are the "buddy" jobs that we have all been laughing about.
I love when people say "with all due respect" and then say something offensive. I was being genuine and posted within a thread showing frustration with current audit shops. We are a rapidly growing company who is in need of auditors during the busiest shopping time of the year, I am in sales and have no vested interest other than leading people to a company I know is reputable because I work there. I am new, and apologize for my post being in the wrong area.

The point is that you are posting in the wrong area. Letting you know that was offensive? OK?
I'm not sure what "die respect" is supposed to mean?
We are familiar with RBG. I work for them (you) infrequently.
I think that pairing up your audit with theirs in this thread makes a lot of sense. Both companies are reputable. Both have highly undervalued our time. I would not ask my teenagers to split the fees on me with either of these audits. You are paying less than minimum wage to do them. If they are so great, feel free to sign up friends and family to do them. There are some within driving distance of RBG's office.
I am glad you have used our company and I have corrected my spelling error. We are consistently working to improve our process, my post was out of genuine concern. I apologize you felt they were undervalued, the market does determine the price and we, like any other business, have to maintain profitability. What I can tell you is that unlike most other MSP's we are reinvesting in our product and technology. If you have suggestions on how to make the process more efficient and lucrative we would be more than open to hearing it. Please feel free to call me or anyone at my company with feedback on the shops. The more we know the more we can change...

I guess I didn't realize they would still pay me. Considering the efforts that went into the one I was able to do, you are all correct, I should be celebrating.
CBunchRPG, The price audits would be better suited for a mobile app. I know Easy Shift has some for other retail stores (mostly groceries and general type stores) that seem to go quite easy for me. The Easy Shift ones pay $15 and will have about 80 pictures or so (I know sounds a lot!) but I do those as the mobile app makes it easy. Those take me about 30 minutes or so and since the app uploads the pictures itself, I have no report to write afterward. Since RPG uses Sassie, you might look in putting these into a Sassie Rover app to be similar to the ones I already do.

I have thought about taking these and using an app I just found during the Amazon Underground sale (where they make normally paid apps free). It's called List Master Pro and basically does the inputting on a form that is easily readable on a phone and will put the info into an Excel spreadsheet. I haven't done this yet (I have been waiting as I haven't see any that fit with my schedule yet) so I don't know for sure how it would go. There is no way I would take a buddy to do these as I do not feel comfortable taking shops where I have to depend on someone else's schedule along with mine -- except for date night shops with my boyfriend. Sorry, but pricing audits are not considered to be fun shops!

I see they dropped the income requirement to $60,000 per year. By the time they get down to my level, these hotels will be too old to be standing, LOL!!!
They just seem to be sitting there. Based upon the experiences shared here, there is no way that I will take one for $20

@cbunchchrg Please ignore SoCalMama. It is best to toggle her. Her response was very rude and uncalled for. I enjoy your shops immensely.
I'm still trying to figure out what was the least bit rude about SoCalMama's post. We all frequently disagree with what constitutes a reasonable fee and none I've seen on this thread seem to have placed an appropriate and realistic value on our time. As to suggesting someone post on the job board thread, that was appropriate and if the poster representing RBG really wants to recruit auditors posting there would serve them well.

I performed a Comfort Inn audit earlier this week. I was on site for about two hours, but it took me *eight additional hours* to download all of the pictures they requested - the hotel had never been renovated and nothing was like the examples in the booklet. The .pdf of the audit is 139 pages long. Never again.
