Intellishop's Cheapness Strikes Again

Apparently this MSC has acquired a "new" client from another MSC. With the previous MSC, the P&R shop paid $18.00 for an easy shop scenario and report. The return could be done on the same day after waiting at least an hour from the purchase time. I easily performed other shops within the same mall so there was no need to make a second trip.

With Intellishop, the shop looks the same or similar from what I can see but with this MSC, the shop fee is only $10.00. I can understand a slight decrease in pay because the "new" MSC is sucking up to the client. But an $8.00 decline is outrageous. Once again, Intellishop's cheapness strikes again.

BTW, the rotation on this client is long, I think a year. Needless to say, I won';t be taking this shop anymore if they stay with this MSC and the low pay. I am sure some newbie will scoop it up. Good luck, newbie!

This will probably make it worse. They didn't acquire the client, they acquired the smaller MSC along with their portfolio. In other words, it is highly likely the clients are paying the same as they were before. For another shop that was $10/$10 fee reimbursement is posted today as $5/$10. It's worse because I could swear first quarter this year the fee was $8.

Their messages to me go to Spam. I reviewed shops I've done and figured time spent reading their emails so I'm still signed up with them just in case of desperation.

A while ago I did a shop for them which required I give real ID. Shortly after submission I was called by the person shopped and then he told me about the report and the information he had, and how it was pretty much "impossible" for anyone who was shopped not to know exactly who the person was. That sucks. It was unrevealed but revealed later. The guy was a bit angry at first but I was honest and it worked out but it could have been disastrous.

So, I'll just work for them if I'm desperate AND the job matches certain criteria as now I have to work on the assumption they break my confidentiality every time.
I hope by spam you mean a special folder you have set up for emails you do not want to read and you are not actually designating them as spam to your provider.

Whoa. That is pretty scary that the client provides enough information to the target about the MS that the target can identify the MS and then go back in their paperwork to find our contact information.

I realize in many shops we have to provide accurate contact information, but under those circumstances I thought the client had enough discretion to not "out" the shopper to the target. I don't want an angry target to call me, text me, or show up on my doorstep.

Thanks for the heads up.
But at least they read and respond to every ema.......oh nevermind.

I did that purchase and return shoe shop with the other MSC. I noticed that the fee was down to $10 instead of $18 with that other MSC. That other MSC merged with Intellishop. I ended up doing the shop with the reduced fee as a filler with my other shops in the area.
Why are we talking around what company merged with Intellishop???
It's not like they are an MSC and Client.

@GuyFawkes, what market? What are you talking about?

Do you think the amount of talented shoppers is increasing allowing them to cut their assignment's rate in half?
Effective November 1, 2015, Service Excellence Group was acquired by IntelliShop. We would like to welcome you to the IntelliShop family!

Funny I have been with the intellishop family many years and never felt welcome. I still don't. Sucks as Service Excellence has some good shops I liked.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Oh man, I had no idea. It makes sense now, I missed that announcement. I don't think I've done a shop for Intellishop in many years, but the experiences I had are enough to keep it fresh in my mind to remain labeled: DNT. (Do Not Take).

Most of us don't see the patterns nationwide and consider our areas to be our market. The shopper pool fluctuates wildly in some areas.

To answer your question, when a company acquires another company along with their clients and immediately slashes fees, it doesn't have a damn thing to do with how many shoppers are out there. A reasonable assumption is client fees were not reduced because they didn't have to woo the clients. Instead the cost of the acquisition is being passed along to us. There are several MSCs who tend toward deep cuts. It will work because some shoppers are going to be willing to do a job for $5 although last quarter it was $8 and the previous it was $10. Right now Intellishop is betting on emailing to the point of being spam, hero citations and downright hilarious little bonuses to get the vast majority of shops done. It will probably work for them so even if they have to cough up real money for a few, they will have already made bank on the others.

No way. Most experienced shoppers will not work for the lower fees unless they are possible filler shops as part of a route. It is the inexperienced newbie shoppers who drive down the prices by accepting the first job offers they see. A bad economy and greedy and/or struggling MSCs are other factors.
LisaSTL's post explained it better than my post. She is definitely more of a morning person than I am.

If someone shows up at your doorstep, introduce that person to your dog, Spike, or to your two best friends, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.
I missed the Service X shops even though they had limited shops in my area. Here's a example of how generous they were. When I was assigned one of their shoes shop, I went to the location and found that it had closed. No signs posted or even a future notice to indicate where they might have moved. I contacted the scheduler and she got back to me. She explained that location was being remodeled and was scheduled to reopen on so and so date. The scheduler asked me if I would redo the shop and was offered a double fee of $18. My total shop fee was $36.
I noticed the same this morning. A walk-in shop that was normally $10.00 was reduced to $5.00. This shop used to be $18.00 and requires lot of detail and narration. The call in should used to be $8 and now is $5. I just looked again, and the $10 shop is back to $10, so it could have been mis-posted this morning.
