Technology Shopper

Is anyone doing the cell phone study for Technology Shopper for 6/2/10. I was wondering if they mean the shop can be completed any date by 6/2 or it has to be completed on that date. It was not that clear.

I have assigned four to myself, but the due date for them is 6/30. From the way I understood it, you have until that date to do the shop.

My questionnaire in the upper left under requirements states "This shop must be performed by 06/30/10" so I will be doing one today and some next week.

I have another question on this: It says, each shop has a different scenario and perhaps one of the cell phone carriers. I am having difficulty figuring out which cell phone carrier and scenario is on each shop.

The series I am doing has "Direct" and "Indirect" shops, where the "Direct" are ones that are company owned stores and the "Indirect" is a partner location. My guidelines are a 2 page deal and the scenario is spelled out on page 2. It is a pretty standard scenario. The ones I have are both for the same phone carrier and is, in fact, the only carrier represented in the location.

Thanks. What happened is when I printed the information, the first shop did not have all the information; the other shops have the scenario and carrier in blue.

I really lucked out. My first shop I got a true Geek with a love of the technology. I had a great time! Although I love the toys as well, I have little enough use for them that the cost would be prohibitive, but there are some spectacular toys out there! The guy was rational and reasonable about plans and costs, with some good suggestions. Am I rushing right out to buy and change my current plan? No.

I verified the addresses and two of my shops are no longer there. I emailed the scheduler to find out if they still want the picture of the shop or to cancel. I have not heard anything further.

What picture did you need? I don't think my directions said I needed a picture. They actually didn't ask for anything, not even a business card. I still got one though.

Same here Lisa. My guy marked up a brochure for me and made sure I had his card, so I guess he figured I was a serious prospect. Their other company (?) Wireless Store Shopper was requiring photos.

I was a little worried about that when I was reporting my shop. I never shopped with Wireless, but I remembered reading that they were requiring pictures.

I looked pretty carefully with my Technology shop and saw no such requirement. Shop has been accepted so guess I'm okay

kittybratt, tomorrow I am doing the same shop that you mention, my shop it's an "interactive" shop with picture of the store, if this is closed for business.

It seems they have changed the due dates after the shops are assigned.

When I accepted my shops, they were due 6/30. I have two left to shop and I signed in today and the front page says they are now due 6/17. That still leaves over a month to shop them, but since I live out in the middle of nowhere I often take shops quite a distance from me and then plan a route. That is difficult to do if due dates change AFTER the shop is assigned.

I got an email yesterday(?) indicating that although the deadline was 6/30 for my outstanding shops, please to not wait until then to do them. Checking their board, the shop I still have outstanding has not changed due date. I think they are suddenly realizing that giving folks 2 months to do the shops is not getting them the steady flow of work to be edited they hoped for. I did my first one fairly quickly and the second one I took because it is an area where I don't go every week, so it will be feasible when I have another job out there. My guess is that they will pull in future due dates to give you no more than 2 weeks or so rather than 2 months.

I wonder if anyone would PM me the link for the company since I would like to see if there any shop in my area? Thank you in advance!

One of the shops I was scheduled for was not an actual cell phone shop. I emailed the scheduler to ask if I should continue with the shop and take a photograph. I was told that just to take a photograph and report that information. After reporting the information, and uploading a picture of the store, she sent me a thank you email.

I also got that email about not waiting until the last minute. I have one shop left which I have to do next week. I was waiting to pick up another shop nearby.

I got that email too about not waiting. It was this morning though that I noticed on their sign in page, it had a list of new due dates.
