Need help with Trendsource

Has anyone completed the grocery store shop for this MSC? Their certification and shop instructions are OVERLY complicated and just confuse me. Just wanted to see if someone could explain this in 3-5 bulleted sentences. Hint, the Grocer name rhymes with ogre. I usually avoid this msc because of their loft certifications (and low pay) but am looking to increase revenues by trying out new msc's.

I've completed a lot of those. I would suggest that you call the trendsource office directly and ask for the department that handles the shop. They are extremely helpful and walked me completely through
I've done these shops, too. There's a lot to learn, and all of the required walking/circling can be kind of a pain, but the shops weren't too terrible once I got into a groove. Also paid fairly decently (at least in my area) once you factored in reimbursement & sometimes bonuses, but the shop isn't really the type of thing you could sum up in 3-5 sentences, either. What exactly is it that you would need to know?

The OP started another thread with the same question and said they passed their test afterall
I have done some grocery shops and found the paperwork to be very time consuming. They pay a small fee plus a reimbursement for the purchase of at least three items up to a set amount. I decided the fee plus the reimbursement was just not enough money for the time required. Also be certain to ask the exact focus questions and state that clearly in your answer. If you can speed up the reporting it could be worth doing, everyone needs groceries, right?
I think most of us could come up with better questions without even trying.

There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
The detailed criteria on this grocery shop were hidden until after I'd accepted the shop. Pay was $5 plus the $9. Estimated time with reporting, on their assignment request, was about 25% of what this would really take, not counting their quiz, inbox spam cleaning, drive time, gas money, and likely reshops. This happened on the same day that they nitpicked shops very similar to those I've done for other clients that get 10's.

Who works for these people? My first week with them has put them in the 10-foot-pole bin.

Doing my best, every day
Do you live in my area? More for me. Its easy peay after youve done a few. Ive memorized the test questions. click, click, click. Now the assoc. questions, comeon
I find them super easy to do as well!! Time in store, because I take my time, is usually 25 - 30 minutes, but I could shorten it if I had to. Report takes me 8 minutes tops. The guidelines for the questions for the Client in my area state that I can actually come up with my OWN questions, as long as the answers elicit a recommendation, so that helps a lot!! Today I did one with a $10 PAD...last minute and 13 miles away. Last month I got one with a $30 PAD because it was 28 miles away and last minute. I do about 5-6/month at their regular fees. I, like Spicy, have everything memorized, I've been doing them so long. REALLY helps on the grocery bills....I find them easy-peasy, and they pay twice a month. To each his own...some of us enjoy doing these...others would never touch them with a 10 foot pole!! That's the advantage to being able to find out what works for each of us.
I just requested an 8.00 pad for a Business Verification 40 miles RT. didn't get an answer back..why do some get pads and I never do.....just asking,

I agree, Spicy. The groceries shops are classic mystery shopping and perfect training grounds. I’m currently in a large city with an endless list of grocery shops available, while in my small town there are only a few chances. If I only lived here, I could enjoy expensive foods more often.

I have done several of these shops but only with bonus' attached. There is no way you can get through this store in under 30 minutes without racing around in an obvious manner taking notes (you have to go through the store twice!) while engaging employees accurately. I refuse to do these without bonus' and I've noticed the bonus' are getting more frequent which means this company will be switching to another MSC soon. My area gets $12 for the shop and $12 for the purchase and it is still not worth the 45 minute stint and then entering it. To each his own but I am glad I have held off and now take these shops regularly for $32 plus groceries. I enjoyed these much better when the other MSC had them. Hope they return.

@Bella-Do Are the ones you do from a different MS company?! As far as I know, this company has always had these. The ones I do only pay $9 + $5 fee or $12 + $5 fee. My first walk through the store takes 3- 5 minutes at most. I set my timer for 20 minutes and I'd better be on my last interaction by then and headed to the register. Less if there is no deli purchase. I do A LOT of these.
I agree with spicy, having done their groceries, I'm usually about half an hour in store, could be less but I'm a browser and don't rush as all the shops are within a couple miles from me so no driving. Sometimes especially the ones done around 4 to 5:00, the register gets busy so I go on the weekends at noon. I always spend more than their allowance, but that's my preference and I eat well.

You're not kidding! I usually re-read the guidelines carefully every month, to see if that option is still available. So far it has been! I like it.

I don't know, Irene....it's really weird. I can go MONTHS without getting a PAD. But lately I've started NOT being the one to ask for the PAD....I wait till they call me. When it's crunch time, it seems they are more than willing to give a PAD. I've gotten 3 PADs in the last 12 months, one last June 0f '17, one this past March, and the one yesterday. So, not a lot, but I'll take them!
The have been emailing jobs far away, since I have a 10 mile radius and these jobs are far (which I have never done) or have asked for pad. However for the fun of it, I asked for above pad, and they keep sending job, but not replying to my pad request. I don't really care, as the pay is way too low anyway (even with pad).

Previously, another company had these grocery shops. The other company still has another store grocery shops.

Sooo, some won’t work for food?!? I will! I will!
No one else even had Trend Source's groceries stores they've had them for years. I've done them close to my home for years just won't travel for them.

@spicy1 Maybe the shops are different in my area. I know it's the same company but for the past 11 years this company has gone back and forth between two MSCs. The current one does not give as much as the other one so I stayed away from them due to all the work and not enough pay. I find when I try to go through their whole store in a half hour, I have to whip around with my cart as the store is just too big. Also, less and less shoppers are doing these in my area and they usually text me to see if I can do them with PAD. Only way I'll do them for TS.

@spicy1 OK, just figured out why you can do these in a shorter amount of time. You are doing the same company but where I live, they are combined grocery/department store. Takes a lot longer to complete.
There's only one here that is the combined grocery/department store. It does take longer.
Most of the ones here are combined grocery/department stores UGH!!! I might as well go to Target or Walmart. The store closest to me is the smallest in the area and the one time I got it as a shop, I was able to do it quickly. Unfortunately, someone else in my area has obviously figured out it's advantages and is competing with me for it. There are a lot in my area that are kind of in-between. Not the size of my preferred store, but don't have Macy's in the middle of the store either. Those are the ones I mostly take. I rarely take weekday shops because I don't like grocery shopping after 4 o'clock. Weekend shops are much easier.

I honestly hope it stays with TrendSource. I don’t know why everyone says these are so horrible as they don’t really want a lot of narrative — I actually used to spend a ton more time on these writing full paragraphs until I had a scheduler scheduled me one for an emergency and took the report over the phone... he just asked for 1-2 sentence answers, and when I told him I had been writing paragraphs, said don’t worry about that, they don’t need it. So I switched to 1-3 sentences and cut my time over half. They have never kicked one back to me. The bonuses can be quite decent. I do a ton of these. A good chunk of my grocery bill is paid.

That said, if it’s going where I think it may going, I probably won’t be doing many more of them. I noticed another MSP (the one with the trendy outdoor outfitters) has been picking up some of the stores in the area... almost like a test... they start them at $10 with a $2 reimbursement and are slow to bonus... absolutely not — and these guys want 4-5 sentences with every interaction, although it looks like the counting and double loop requirement isn’t there. I’m used to $10+5 it $12+12 with another 10-12 pad. Something tells me it may end up there though sad smiley
