Intellshop Pizza shop question...

I picked up the famous Pizza job a couple of days ago. I took eight pictures from different angles and I put three in the report and I send the others to my scheduler. The last time I did one, I asked who do I send the other pictures to and she said send them to her.

I received a e-mail the next day from her stating that she received the pictures. I just received a e-mail saying that they were not clear and I need to send more in.

They looked clear to me and before I send it in, I had my wife looked at them and she helped me picked out the best three.

Since there is room for only three and I took eight of them what do you think I should do? I send them three others.

I know I will lose at least two points because the were not clear enough. I was trying to do something good for my son.

I also know it is the weekend and my the scheduler probality won't be in the office till Monday.

Not sure what you mean by taking pictures from different angles. Only one angle is required. Only one picture actually goes to the client, I believe, so the other two in the report are already just backups. No need to email any others unless they request them.

Next time, check your pictures right away. They have to be clear even when greatly magnified. Zoom in on them, check that all pizza edges are included, etc. BEFORE disturbing the pizza. That way you can snap a couple more pictures if needed. It wouldn't hurt to practice. Take a picture of your next meal and see if you can get pictures that look clear when magnified.

It's hard to say whether they'll accept this report or not.
There have been other times that I have taken a picture of my meal and it was clear.

I even ZOOM in and they looked clear to me. If only goes to the client, how come they want a total of three?

What I meant to say was that I took some at the table and then I took others in the kitchen,

I did one last month and I had the same problem. I send inthe other pictures that I tooked and it was accepted and I was paid?

Does the same editor loom over this shop or is it different editors each time?
I think the extra two on the report are just in case the one you loaded first wasn't acceptable. I doubt just one editor could do all of these reports. There is a reputation that this MSC or client is very picky about the pictures. So far I haven't had a problem, but my time is probably coming.
The times I have done them I have received 7s

I do other pizza shops where I have to take pictures and I have no problems.

As long as I get paid I will be happy
A lot of the times it is the client that rejects the picture. That was the case in the one I did that was rejected. It looked great to me and to the editor. The editor and I talked and I sent extra and she said they looked great to her. Later, she wrote me back that even though we both they were good pictures, the client rejected them as not being clear enough.
I don't do shops for this company but i have to say it's ridiculous that the client rejects the clear pictures. If the msc even agrees it is clear, and they should know the guidelines, then it is just unacceptable if it were me. I do plenty of pizza and other food shops, and when i know i've taken clear pictures, i haven't had a problem. I couldn't do work for a company that would reject a clear picture if i follwed the shop instructions to a t. That is why i don't and couldn't work for them. Not worth the hassle.
In the future (if you do one of these again), I would not email in any extra photos unless they reject the ones in the report. I would take a dozen (or even more) photos, submit my report, and wait to see if they request others. The way it is now, you don’t have any other backup photos. I would just reply to her request with 3 or 4 of those same photos you emailed in, and see what happens.

I do believe they reject the entire report without pay if they decide there isn’t a “good” picture.
They rejected my report. GRRR. They said that I did not follow the photo guidelines.

So my kids got pizza, the pizza company got my money and I am short for the week.

Now it is back on the job board for 10 dollars.

I
Perhaps the client can't see the desired details when viewing the pics on a 24" desktop monitor? Would it be possible to use a standalone digital camera? Some smartphone cameras don't have large enough optical sensors, fast enough processors, etc...

When I "upgraded" my smartphone to an Alcatel 5.5" with 720 x 1280 pixels display I noticed my pics looked worse than what I was taking with an old LG Volt with 540 x 960 pixel display. Ugh.

What happened with your shop is exactly why I DON'T do these shops. The possibility of a reject/nonpayment isn't something I'm willing to absorb. Especially since you can't use coupons or order your choice of toppings. When I order from this pizza place I use a coupon code and pay half the price of what I'd pay if doing it as a mystery shop.

It would be interesting to know what model smartphone (or digital camera) successful shoppers are using. Was your successful pizza shop with a different company?
I have used Samsung Galaxy phones (currently an s8), and so far have never had an issue.

It may differ according to which MSC you do these for, but I almost always use coupons. Sometimes I add another pizza with whatever toppings we want.

I have 1280x960 on my lg phone and haven't had any pictures rejected, when i know i've followed the shop picture guidelines and know i've taken a good clear picture. I definitely don't do shops for this msc because of all the stories of shoppers getting rejected because of a 'unclear' picture.

Some msc's don't allow coupons to be used on food shops and if you can use one, great.
@MrEd. Yes it was with a different MSC

The only time you can use a code is for delivery. I have done a few delivery shops with no prblems
I have done a number of these shops and I have not had anyone rejected.

You can actually use coupons by the way.

I usually end up taking 3-6 photos all with flash, maybe one without, right from on top with the whole pizza in view. I have had 0 problems and my phone LGK10 is not the greatest.
I do these shops once in a while, if it's for take out and I'm going to be in the area. Someone else posted on another thread that s/he puts the pizza box directly on the ground and shoots the whole pie from above. This has worked really well for me. The only time I didn't get a 10 on this shop was when a red pepper pkg was (barely) touching the crust.
