1) Have you previously received direct deposits from them that went through?
2) Have you changed banks?
3) Have you checked your profile to make sure that something didn't get changed?

I have seen things change on my profile that I did NOT change but mostly it has been stuff like the make and model of my vehicle, though at one point it was my telephone number (whole different area code and totally unidentifiable phone number). When I changed banks there were a couple of companies I forgot to change the direct deposit information.
Had the same bank for 5yrs. I just started with CFI in january and these were the payments for feb. and march. My account shows my correct bank info.I think they maby typed in a bad number and some one else is getting my money. But i cant get in touch with anyone who has any info on this.I in no way think CFI is not trying to pay me theirs just a mistake somewhere.I have done over 40 shops for them in 2mo and have never been late, but if i was i bet they would sure know how to get in touch with me.
It does sound like a problem on their end. I was just encouraging you to make sure your end was correct to avoid the egg on the face syndrome. smiling smiley I would keep trying to go through your scheduler and point out that nobody from accounting has gotten back with you. I would point out that you are concerned because if you "understand correctly" there is only a limited amount of time during which they can reclaim wrongly sent funds (no idea if that is true or not) but you suspect the money went to a wrong account since it did not show up at your bank of record with them.
I have done many merchandising assignments for Certified and only ran into a problem with them one time. I called them and spoke with a rep. I was told that he would get back to me, but he never did. I emailed them with the problem, but it took several days before they emailed me back. The problem was that they promised me a certain amount for a rush assignment and paid me $5 less. They asked if I had printed the assignment offer with the posted price. I did not, so it was my word against theirs. Now I print all rush job offers as proof to back me up if this should ever happen again.

I have probably done 50 assignments for them, and this was the only problem. Although it was frustrating, I decided to continue working with them.

One other thing, I never take their low paying jobs--it's just too ridiculous to spend an hour just reading the 15 pages of instructions to do an $8 assignment. I will wait until they call me and ask. At that point, they are willing to increase the pay to $14 or $16 if you ask. I will also do an assignment posted on the internet that they need done that day and pays a lot more than their standard $8.
Thanks for the info
I finally got to talk to one of the managers, He told me he can see what the problem was that he would email accountanting, and him or accounting would get right back to me
Well i got march deposit still no febuary, guess i will just keep calling to they get tired of hearing my voice lol

Personally, I would not recommend Certified. I had worked for them for nearly a year. I was recruited by the Theatre department, but was soon recruited into Marketing by a call on my telephone to do a rush job at a department store. That was a big mistake. This rush job had soon been turned into a recurring job without my knowledge. But I continued with it a few times. From the start, my pay was less than advertised. But that was not what finally soured me from them forever. It was the day I was removed from all assignments because of an issue with a store. I had not been working that location for long. Because of a non-answer on my form, I was removed from that project as well as others; and permanently removed from the company. I spoke to a representative, of whom told me the reason was only because of the answer (NA). My final paycheck was much less than agreed upon.
A year later, I decided to get in contact with Certified again. I was told that I was not allowed back because of other statements posted on their files...(blatant lies). Among those statements was the falsification of reports connected with another location. That I was not told the year before. I asked about an appeals process, since I knew that I would rather take poison than falsify reports. Besides that, I had procured the signature of the manager on duty after reviewing those forms with them. The representative I spoke to informed me that there was no appeals process for this. I gave up, but the idea of these false allegations about me was eating away. So I called back to try to get to the correct person. After my attempts, the individuals began raising their voices at me and ultimately began hanging up on me. When I spoke to someone in another department, they tried putting me through. But I was told that the manager in that department said that I could call back as many times as I want, but they would keep hanging up on me.
I emailed Certified again to ask about the appeals process. A week later, I received an email in response that informed me that there was no appeals process. I emailed again to ask that these allegations be looked into again, since it seemed as though the individual that added these things on their files had done so only to prevent my returning. It's been two months, and no further response.
I don't intend to return, but I would like to clear those records of her false allegations. It still burns me up.
....My next step will be a doozy.

Well i finaly got my money straight, after 2mo. and at least 20 ph. calls
the direct deposit was made on time , but to some one else is account lol
Seems like after my first time to call them to ask about my money ,they could of traced the deposit , but no guess it was to much trouble. My bank did a trace on it and found it in some one else is account.
Aqua,

The same thing happened to me. I had an issue at a store (that I was doing them a huge favor working on) and FROM the store I called Certified and explained the situation.

They assurred me that it wasn't an issue on my end and that I never had to go back there again.

I log on, well try to, a few days later and was deactivated because "I WAS RUDE"!

The BS snowballed from then on and I just said, $%*# this!!!! I knew I was not rude and fought with them like crazy to get back into their company.

My husband kept asking me why when they were such &#$($ to me and called like 10 times a weekend before 8 am and I told him.....

I don't want to work for them anymore I just know and want others to know I am not rude at all!!!!

It sucks that I can't find another theatre company!

Uh, duh, uhm. Not just Certified makes "direct deposits" to the "wrong account". There are supposedly lots of safeguards in the direct deposit system to avoid specifically this kind of problem. If the name and account number and routing number are not correct, the payment bounces back to the sender (unless they have changed the banking systems in the past couple of years). I have heard this from several financially strapped companies and find this an excuse for a slow payment/no payment rather than likely to be an actual occurrence. The other one I just LOVE is that "Paypal screwed up". In all my eBay years and with all the MSPs that pay me by Paypal, there are only a couple of companies that all too frequently come up with this excuse for my not being paid. I am not a big believer.
I do about one MS theatre shop a month for them, and have always been paid quickly and they are always nice on the phone, even when I tell them, "NO," which for me, is weekly.

I have never done anything for the other divisions other than MS. They seem to be pretty split, so that could explain the disparity in how they treat people.

After three months of fighting for my money, I have had no more trouble from them.
Since they joined up with shop n check I now recive payments twice a month,
so i guess someone from their is now reading these postings.
I do reccomend them.
Have any of you been deactivated from Certified and been able to work for them again? I used to do movie trailer checks for them for almost a year without any problems. The merchandising dept refused to reactivate me because they stated that I had cancelled too many assignments. I explained to them that I had a medical procedure done and had to cancel the day before I was scheduled to do the assignment. Then the person on the phone went back over the entire year to point out other assignments that I had cancelled which amounted to two more. I explained to them that I am currently working for Market Force which had acquired a while back and they had no problems with me. Six months had past since I last did an assignment for them and the representative said that his supervisor in the merchandising dept still refused to rehire me. I would really like to work for them again because I loved doing the movie trailers for them. Any suggestions?
I have never had a problem with Certified. Love doing the movie checks and those last minute calls always pay extra.
I do movie shops for another company also so sometimes it is double pay for one viewing.
chancesr and Aqua--

CORI and Channelwatch both have movies. Don't know what they pay. You don't have to work for anyone who mistreats you. Cut your losses and go elsewhere. I've lost a lot more than $8 with non-paying and weasly clients in my business.
Yes I have had problems. I am not able to log in. They claim it is because of my sister not allowing them to send me emails. But when I received an email from someone there at Certified and questioned it. I was told that was from a different address. Hate to say this they have problems there. Also, I am signed up with 100 different companies I have no problem getting their emails or logging in. Does that tell you something.
Yes, I had been deactivated also. Told there was a problem with my system. Told there emails came back to them as spam. Funny thing is I had never done a shop with them. Only signed up. I declined one shop and boom deactivated. From all the complaints they are getting, I think they need to look at themselves. Too many chiefs and no Indians there and still not correcting the problems. I have done shops with several other companies. Signed up with 100. Thank God they are not the only companies around.
To Nawila,
Thanks for the response. I've found another theatre company. It's called TES; that's Theatrical Entertainment. The website is [www.tnsmi-tes.com]. Try it, it's fun and my scheduler is quite polite.
Thank you because they were mean to me also at Criny and you would not believe just how mean. I have been looking for a long time now for movie shops, miss those so thanks much.
Well, guess what, I just found Certified on the Better Business Bureau website and they are NOT AN ACCREDITED BUSINESS. In fact, if you look under customer experience, they are listed as "having an unsatisfactory record with the BBB". Therefore, anyone who still works for them is a fool because it's a known fact that no one should do business or work for a company that's not accredited with the BBB. Here's the link to prove their status with the BBB:

For anyone who has access to the volition.com website, I would really appreciate you posting this link there too. I'm also thinking about e-mailing their theater chain presidents to let them know too. If we all put in a little effort, we can probably put them out of business for good and a better company, that's actually accedited, can perhaps pick up their clients. I'm sure Certified's clients don't realize they are NOT accredited by the Better Business Bureau and they have the right to know what kind of company they're dealing with.
They have never been mean to me at CRI, though did "not receive" one fax 4 times in 3 days. But when they call, they are always polite, always nice when I say no (which I usually do) and I have always been paid on time. I don't do more than an occasional standee or trailer check or a theatre ms, and can't complain at all.

Interesting, but the BBB is interested in a company treats their clients. We only have to concern ourselves with how they treat their contractors, although we do know they are cheap. We are not clients or employees of Certified, they are our client.

Have you found similar stories about other MSP's?
Certified was the only company I found on the Better business bureau's site that had an unsatisfactory rating! However, I'm sure there are other ones. I know Channel Watch rarely pays you upon assignment completion. It is true we are not employees or clients of Certified, but some of us have mamaged to remain independent contractors OF certified which their clients rely on. Therefore, if their clients begin to realize how these contractors are treated, they may begin to question their over-all reports. All I know is that I would never want to contract for Certified again due to their poor reputation. They may have been around for a very long time, but that could mean their time is running out, since nothing lasts forever.
Ouch! What a terrible rating they have! I suggest anyone take a look at their BBB rating. Regardless of who filed the claims,an unsatisfactory rating is just that. I'm going to check other companies out now too.

DO NOT - repeat - DO NOT do any work for this company - They will find a way not to pay you - Better to stay home.
