What websites do you use to look for new companies/shops?

Hello! I am Alana at Shoppers Confidential, and I am needing to increase our database of shoppers, mainly in the USA. I'm just wondering what is the most effective way to reach shoppers! Do you use Facebook groups, other Forums, are there other websites aside from MSPA that you use? Help me expand my database! Thank you!

How I found new companies:
1) I saw them referenced on this forum - either in the linked list or through jobs being advertised.
2) See the above. It's #1 by far.
3) Independent schedulers hired by the company who reached out to me through their own database.
4) MSPA Lists (It's been years since I've used this)
5) Facebook Groups (I think I've added about three MSC's due to Facebook)

The keys to get me to sign up for a new company:
1) A job is advertised with very attractive compensation - such that the effort to register is outweighed by how attractive the shop is. I'm not going to "jump" for $20.
2) I can't find enough work with my current contacts, so I register for a few more companies.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Thank you MFJohnston for your response! I just want to make sure there isn't an obvious place I am missing when I am trying to recruit new shoppers with us. Thanks for the feedback! smiling smiley

Alana,

Using the link you provided, I attempted to sign-up, but the screen merely flickered and I was returned to the hone page.
I am always looking for new opportunities and am signed up for your company. Unfortunately, there are no shops in my area.
Strange. We did have some website upgrades the other day so it might have a little bit of a glitch. Try this link [sc.shopmetrics.com]

Hi Alana. I see I am already signed up with your MSC, but nothing in my area.

I've been doing this for close to 15 years. A lot of companies have new assignments on hold or aren't replying to messages in a timely fashion. Still, I have plenty of opportunities coming my way, so I rarely sign up for new companies anymore unless a scheduler contacts me directly Sometimes, if I am traveling and see something that looks interesting to me, I will reach out ahead of my trip to see if I can get a few assignments while I am in a new area.
Personally, I have no interest at all to go onto Facebook and essentially tell all of my friends that I am a mystery shopper. Why anyone does that is beyond me. If there is another Forum besides this one (there used to be one, but it got worse and worse and, thankfully, finally disappeared), please let me know. I have not seen any useful reason to bother with the MSPA website. IMHO. they are simply a trade organization for mystery shopping companies.

However, your post here caused me to look at "your" website. It isn't one I usually look at. Today, I was assigned to two shops. Yeah!

I just did my first job for Shoppers Confidential. Alana was very easy to work with. Unfortunately there are no other opportunities in my area.

Shoppers used to be able to find Shopmetrics MSCs through MSJobBoard.com. However, with Shopmetrics' pulling down that site and attempting to drive business to Gigspot that's not an option for you. Many shoppers are old school and don't use Gigspot. Good luck lobbying Shopemetrics into putting MSJobBoard.com back up.
Thank you all for your feedback! We do have quite a few new clients coming on in June, so we will have much more work shortly.
