Yeah. Here, they have electronics store audits, which they've had for a few years, and banking shops.
Yes, it is pretty screwy that I can never see anything on their website but get lots of emails. The funniest was when they were announcing via email and as posts to the job board here that these were 'special' jobs that could not be viewed on their job board. Nothing very special about announcing jobs everywhere but on your own job board!
I just today got an email from a GfK scheduler asking me to "complete the application process" to do the electronics store audits..

"I see you started the process with us to do ********* audits and all that we are missing is your background test and drug test. Now is a great chance to get in this program and I was hoping we could get you fully qualified. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you soon. Thanks!"

From what I hear, they are not worth doing. So, I'm not going to do the background check and drug test they want for that.

Fresno, CA - and shopping all over the middle part of the state!
I guess I lucked out with them. when I started doing the electronic store, they were paying for the background and drug screening. (of course you had to complete two shops or you were billed for it)
I don't mind doing them, just all the printed paper work you need to do (the guide lines). Good grief, if you have done them once you know what a trip hazard is, or what a "big joe" looks like.
I tend to read it on line, print out the new items that need to be check or the ones that don't as they change from month to month.
To me the amount of time I spend putting the information in is about the same amount of time I spend looking for work. So the pay is alright.
They write me also. I have no problem doing either the drug test or background check, but the shops look like audits where you inventory the whole store. There is nothing wrong with that, but it's not for me. When I ran retail stores, we had inventory crews do this, not 1 person. As a manager, I would question the counts. Plus, any good store manager has his people counting behind the hired count. Sounds like a real time consumer, but I may be wrong.
rich,
you are not inventorying the store, you are doing a price check. Making sure that the prices are what they claim they are. You are also doing a bunch of other checks too. Like the labor laws, are they posted? or is the recycle bid in the front part of the store. Are the machines ( the ladders) in working order, are there signs posted on them. There are a lot of other things other than inventory, which you are not really checking.
Dear GFK,

If you are going to spam me with dozens of emails suggesting I go to your site to check out shops in my area, could you please at least have a shop in my area once I get there.

Thank you,
Spammed shopper
I get emails daily for the same exact shops. I wonder if they are having a hard time filling these shops. In addition, I don't like audits.
If it is the "electronics audit", those are $130 jobs that are advertised as about 10 hours on site. I have not done one because I agreed to do them at $150 and they suddenly cut the pay to $130. I'm glad I didn't at either $130 or $150 because of the level of unhelpfulness in those stores here.
