ACL

What is going on with them? I know they lost one large client and there are others I haven't seen for months. They have very little selection in my area compared to a year ago and they are taking forever to review shops.

I haven't seen anything from them since I left California 7 years ago. Maybe they don't do any business in Alabama?
I am seeing a boat load of senior assisted living centers, but that's not really my jam. I haven't seen the popular steakhouse offered in months. There was also a running shoe store, but I haven't seen that in half a year. What a bummer since I really need some new sneakers. smiling smiley
I remember shopping for sneakers at the outlet malls. Was that ACL? Most of my first few years of mystery shopping are a blur, I know that I worked for ACL and GFK a lot back then. And Ipsos wasn't even a blip on the screen.. lol
there are some restaurant shops in my area. they recently got a new client doing hotpot evaluation.
Lots of clients have disappeared. All of Darden Company restaurants- (high end steak, Beer Meter Casa, 500 calorie portions). All I see now is senior living, some fast casual, and a decent pub that gets snapped up in 2 seconds.
They have very few clients left. I used to complete lots of restaurant shops in the past.
They have a few clients in my area. A wing shop has cut back the number of shops and they go quickly. Not much else in the restaurant business. Their shops tend to be more complicated that others and other than the wing shop, i don't find the fee and reimbursement equal to the work required.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

I recently found e-mails from ACL in 2006. smiling smiley

They have a famous sub shop that I love. Think of my state and that's the one. I did it once. Yikes, the report was horrible and they want you to take pictures of the back of the restaurant among a lot of other things inside the store. Way, way too much work for a sub.

I do them when Google Pay shops pop up with a different company and they are very worthwhile. I rarely shop for ACL anymore.

They also have a Spanish restaurant that's good and I've done pick up a few times. That wasn't too bad at all. I think I've also seen the expensive steak house with them too.

As of right now, ACL has 23 shops open in AL for self-assignment. Nearly 58 for either request to be assigned or wiatlist. Be sure to search by state, not zip.
In the DMV region: a wide variety of nice restaurants; lots of regional fuel/convenience stores with GOOD food, good reimbursements for food and fuel, small fee and super simple report; wide variety of senior living shops, a ton of storage facility shops with simple reports; and a few exercise specialty locations. Helpful schedulers! Pleasant editors. I have not paid for reimbursed fuel for over a year! What more could we want?

I am new to this game (this June) and I have tried a few platforms (Coyle, ACL, BestMark, GigSpot, ShopConfidentail, IPSO, MarketForce). So far ACL is my favorite. GigSpot's grocery shops are also nice except they don't have many restaurants as ACL do. ACL's schedulers are helpful, and they offer faster response. The time I wait from applying for tasks to actually get or not get the task, is much shorter. They also have easier report to write up. Maybe I haven't tried enough yet but I hope ACL stays that way. And I will try what I can to provide quality reports so their good clients can stay. Not that I am important enough, but they also rely on us to some extent.

Coyle on the other hand, just make me wait for days until the tasks fall through, without telling me why I don't get the assignments. And their reports are notoriously tedious.

Indeed. If they up and vanished, I wouldn't miss ACL. Still, I am happy to lick up their shops which are profitable.

They're right now one of my top MSC's. I'm doing about 4 to $500 a month in phone shops. I do like their regional pet supply company and we have one local brew house wing place that has shops too.

I can't stand phone shops. Be fine with me if you were to take them all.

I love doing shops for ACL. Quick communication, great variety of shops and nice editors!
Yeah, all set with Coyle...I don't even check the board anymore.

You can also check any neighboring states if you are, or will be, near them.
They have lost a lot of clients as some have pointed out. Many of their hotel shops have not returned since the pandemic. They also recently lost a major restaurant client that was previously owned by Darden. They were also doing shops for a local chain in my area and appear to have lost that to another company. ACL has not rebounded since the pandemic.

I find some of their workers condescending, such as when they send the stock messages about things such as if you forgot to detail a "no" answer by mistake. They lack tact. Yes, I'm aware as I have done hundreds of shops with ACL, usually with no issue. But I am human. There are other things too, but that is one example.
Another lost client of theirs I thought of is the wine-focused restaurant named after a bird of prey.
