ISS

I'm sure this is somehow my fault. But I signed up for a bunch of QT shops on ISS, and I had to cancel one today because of the weather. I can't drive on closed roads. But when I went to the website to try to reschedule, I can't, so I cancelled it due to weather, because that's why the roads are closed, they sent an email telling me that I'm going to have points deducted which will make it more difficult to get jobs in the future.

When I scheduled this shop it said that it was going to be cool today, and was going to freeze tonight. Which would have been fine. But we've been under a flood warning and a freeze warning all day. The roads are now solid ice, and most of them are closed because they are simply impassable. That is beyond my control.

Am I supposed to be able to predict the weather better than the NWS?

Don't worry about it. Unless you have like zero history with ISS it won't matter. The amount of points deducted are minimal.
Try contacting the scheduler prior to canceling. They can move things around. One shop should be OK.

Your scheduler must not be the same one I have to use. I'd rather cancel than contacting my scheduler to reschedule. It's just as bad. I rescheduled one through my scheduler because of weather or something, and I had a very hard time for a long time to get another job.

I'm pretty sure someone at ISS or the MSC isn't my buddy. I had a "rank" of 4, then with no notice, or any other changes, it changed back to 2. I didn't miss any shops. Several weeks ago I asked for a shop to be moved up two days because I was going to be there earlier than I thought when I originally scheduled it. She said no problem, and she changed the date.

Dino, the QT shops don't really work that way. Each shop happens during a 4 day span, and you pick a day that you're going to do it. They actually can't reschedule it outside of that 4 day span. Rescheduling isn't even on option that they give you.

And their ranking system is VERY unforgiving. I mostly don't do anything on ISS except restaurant and C-store shops. The other shops they offer have too many downsides to risk losing more points. I do the QT shops because I like their coffee bar dispensers..
