BARE 1099 NEC form

Anyone else get an email from noreply@efile1.com ?

Bare Associates International Inc recently hired us to file their tax information reporting forms for 2025 on Efile4biz, an IRS‑approved transmitter. You’re receiving this email so that you can securely access your 1099-NEC form online by visiting Efile4biz and logging in.

I would think they are obligated to mail us a form. We should not have to sign into some 3rd party site to get tax information they are responsible to provide. Am I missing something here?

Many companies are using this. Bare (as well as others) are not sending out a form this year.
I once dated a programmer, ages ago. I do NOT click on links in emails. I did once, in a scam email that looked like it was from PayPal. NEVER again.

A couple days ago I received an email from an email address that did NOT say CX group, telling me I could click on the link to download my 1099. I immediately sent one of the managers an email asking if the email is legitimate or if it's a scam. She said she would check and get back to me. Today I received another email that looks as if it might be from her, but slightly different, with a different link that supposedly goes to Microsoft Outlook, but I don't Outlook. I replied to the email, telling whoever it is, because I don't believe it's also a scam, that I do not click on links in emails, again, and that I do not use Outlook.

At this point it makes no difference, If I can't get my 1099 on their website to download, I'll just wait for the printed copy to come in the mail.
According to @viv0412 they are not mailing them out.

I know with my Merrill Edge investments, I have to get my 1099 activity online, but I would think for employment (even though we are not employees) they would be obligated to mail a copy and not tell us to sign up with some clown 3rd party. I get they want to save postage. Why not just generate the 1099 online within the website for the MSC and tell us to download it. I do not think it is really fair to make us sign up for another thing just to get 1099.
I don't remember a 'sign up' but then again my week has been INSANE and I'm not even sure I showered every day...
I think I remember just entering my email address & one other piece of info. But like I said, busy week. I got the email, downloaded, printed & set it in the box with the rest of this years tax stuff.

I have received an email from Ath Power to download the NEC 1099 and one physical form from Intellisop. I have not yet received the others.
I am good with those companies that are allowing downloads from their own site. I am NOT pleased having to sign up with some 3rd party company to get my tax info.
I feel the same way when I have to sign up with a third party to get paid. Tipalti is an example. And some of these msc use a different pay format every few years.
As for a 1099 I think it used to be mandatory to snail mail them but this year many companies are not doing that so they must have changed the rules. Since we have to file taxes for any company whether it be work related or investment related or whatever I find it easier to keep track that I have everything if I actually get a mailed paper. There are still people out there in this country who do not have a printer, some do not have a computer or laptop and only have a shoebox. Some of us with gig jobs get lots of emails a day and a notice for taxes is easily buried.
Last year I had a few 1099s that I had to download from the MSC websites. They've been doing that for a few years. Trendsource has been doing it for several years. This year seems different. I've never seen these 3rd party sites used to retrieve our 1099s. And I'm still not convinced that it isn't some kind of scam.
yea, usually this late, I would receive something in the mail, but so far nothing
1099s seem kind of pointless. I am more confident in my own recordkeeping. I use the shop logs as a base to build a spreadsheet, then verify pay dates and amounts for each job against MSC invoices. Then I compare those totals to what my bank/PayPal statements say each MSC paid me for the year. 1099s sometimes report only fees and not reimbursements, which will lead to a mismatch with the amount of money I actually received from them in my financial statements.
