Ipsos Shopmetrics

Has anyone completed a survey, added all the needed information (text and photos) and successfully submitted the survey only for it to be declined because the photos disappeared? I'm going through this right now. I did alot of surveys a week ago and painstakingly added photos and text for each review. Then, the app will only submit a survey when the required answers are all filled, including photos.

So I submitted 9 surveys over the last weekend. 2 came back as "rejected" because there were no photos at all and then one is asked for review/resubmission because another picture was missing.

I emailed the regular contact email for help. I have the pictures and its the apps fault that nothing went through, not me. I mean, the app wouldn't even submit a survey unless it had all the information in the first place.

Can someone help?

stop using the app. Just use the shopmetrics website, it's easier and it doesn't lose pictures.
Haven't used that platform in a while but you'll have a fight on your hands. Per their philosophy, it's always the shopper's fault. You can win, though. Escalate as high as you need to go! Don't let the bullies win.
I had one rejected after I submitted additional pictures and corrections. They said I never submitted anything else. So it was lost. Yes, I fought it.. I went up to Carey, explained in detail. It was a $100 job and I was not caving. It took time and patience but I won. I kept it professional at all times, explained it to at least 3 different people. Stay the course!
I agree with sestrahelena. Stop using the app. Save the desktop link on your phone and use that instead. My life has been so much more peaceful. I used to be stressed out to the point I stopped doing the jobs I had scheduled that day because of the app. I've had instances where photos wouldn't upload from my phone to the app; I've had every answer empty after submitting the entire finished report and wouldn't submit the report because of it; I've had all my photos missing, etc. It's been a horrid story. But 99% does not happen anymore with the website.

Do you still have the pictures in your folder of Presto? Did you take extra pictures? How are they going to remedy this? Have they told you?

Yes, I’ve been in your shoes, and it’s incredibly frustrating completing thier surveys. I’ve even included the frustrations in the comments area.

Do protest as far up as you need to. These are longstanding issues with Ipsos Shopmetrics no amount of feedback seems to change. The editors are equally frustrated because it doubles/triples their workload too.

I’ve had similar issues with Other MSC’s reports using Shopmetrics too, but they don’t come close to the frustrations with the Ipsos reports.

I wish the admins and managers at Ipsos and Shopmetrics had to do these, so they’d understand what the field reps and editors have to deal with.

My average time to do the reports you’re speaking of is 5 hours in addition to the on location and commute due to these issues, when it should only require 2.

Relevant Issue:
The “do you want to save now” popups in both reports (web and app) block whatever you’re doing when they appear, so you have to choose “yes,” then check to be sure what you were doing last was completely saved.
If you need to take a break, always manually save using the button at the end.
Keep this in mind as you read the following:

Here’s what works for me after doing all of the on site photos and other requirements;

1- Open the web form and enter the time and date. Then save/close.
2- I upload the images from my phone (it takes so much time to transfer them to a laptop and messes up the metadata they require ).
Then save/close.
(Pause for some brief self care to allow time fir synching)
3- Reopen the web form.
Check to be sure all of the images saved.
Add your narratives and other responses.
Save/Close. Allow time fur synching.
4- Reopen the web form. Check/save/edit/save.
Check if complete. If not, do the fixes.
Save.
Repeat.

If everything we input saved, we’d be done in half the time and be making more per hour.

I never schedule 2 of these in a day out of respect for my mental health.
I know that I use a tablet because I can't see the pictures well enough on my phone..

I start by opening the shop (website, not app, on the tablet) I enter the date and time, but do not say that I have completed the shop. Then I save it. Next, I do the shop. Whatever it is, and I take all of the pictures on the tablet. Then I sit in my car, at the location, and I open up the website again, and resume working on the report. I save my progress about every 5 or 10 questions.

If you get an error message saying that it could not save, then you've been randomly logged out. DO NOT close the window with all of your answers. Open another tab, sign in again, then go back to the tab with your answers and save them. Then continue until the shop report is complete.

I don't use the app, it's never worked right for me, I only use the website on Shopmetrics and Sassie. Before Ipsos took themselves out of MobiAudit and forked up their app so badly, I only used MobiAudit for doing Shopmetrics shops.

Advocate as far up as you need to. These are longstanding issues with Ipsos and Shopmetrics no amount of lateral feedback seems to change. Many wish the admins and managers at Ipsos and Shopmetrics had to do these, so they’d understand what the field reps and editors have to deal with.

If you need to take a break, always manually save using the button at the end. Keep this in mind as I offer the following:

Here’s what works for me after doing all of the on-location photos and other requirements;

1- I Open the web form on a device with a larger screen and enter the time and date. Then save/close.
2- Upload the images from my phone (it takes so much time to transfer them to a laptop and messes up the metadata they require ).
Then save/close.
(Pause for some brief self care to allow the data to synch).

Save/Close. Allow time for synching.
4- Reopen the web form. Check/save/edit/save.

Save.
Repeat as needed.

In a perfect world we would be done in half the time, and so be making 2x as much per hour.

(I never schedule 2 of these in a day out of respect for my mental health and need for a good night’s sleep…)

Hope this helps.
