Phone & Online Shops

Hello!
I am fairly new to mystery shopping. Mostly I have done phone shops. Because I don't have a vehicle, it is difficult to do in-person shops, so I prefer phone or online shops. My problem is that I can't seem to find many companies that offer these kinds of shops. I have worked for Aboutface, Shopper's View and Confero, but the work is sporadic. I'd like to do more.

Is there anyone here who can recommend some companies that offer phone and/or online shops that I can sign up for? If so, I would appreciate it. Please forgive me if this topic has already been covered. I looked and couldn't find anything.

Many Thanks,
Lori

There are a large number of companies that have a little run of phone shops now and then, but as you are finding, the work is sporadic. There also is heavy competition for phone shops that pay anything because in this day and age of cell phones I can sit with my feet up and call businesses in 48 of the 50 states without incurring any costs. I have been known in an afternoon to call 40 bank locations in NY, PA, WV, CA,WA, IL and a few other states. I don't know that there is any particular company that has a significantly larger number of these than others, so you just have to keep signing up and looking.

As for online shops, I have seen more 'opportunities' that were not legitimate than ones that were.
Thank you, Flash. I will keep looking. Fortunately, there are a lot of companies out there, so that is encouraging.
In my relatively new experience, I've seen phone shops offered sporadically from a variety of companies. The one that seems to have a bunch of them with regularity is Shopper's Critique. There is a lot of competition for them and by some standards, the pay is not great. That said, I understand the lure of phone shops and it does provide income!
Thank you, Orrymain. I will check that company out. And you're so right. Many people want to do these shops because they are convenient. You can make money without leaving the comfort of your home. What's not to love?
It also depends on how you want/need to make it. You can't walk in another person's shoes. People have talked about why people mystery shop and there are probably as many reasons as there are companies. People talk about the low pay of this or that MSC and how long a report takes. Again, it depends on a person's situation and alternatives. Many of the things I've done online to survive financially pale compared to those low pay $10 shops. I could spend an entire day just to get that $10, so the 30-minute visit and 2-hour report is nothing to me. I do have limits, of course, we all do. The point is that it is all relative to our situation and what works for us as individuals. :} Happy phoning!
I use ShoppersView, ShoppersCritique, RealityBasedGroup, BARE, Coyle, Merc Systems, and Intellishop on a regular basis...and occasionally I see shops from Second To None, BestMark and Strategic Reflections. This is also the only way I do shops, and Im making several hundred a month...but it seems from reading other threads, I am missing some companies. Can anyone fill me in on these 5.00 auto shops I see referenced, or any other phone shops? Coyle definitely pays the best at 15-20.00, but the reports are highly detailed.

ETA: I forgot CallCenterQA....I do get emails from them every so often, and they pay 5.00 per call and 2.00 per web submit. GFK has that 20.00 online/phone shop right now, and I thought that was super easy if you don't mind giving out your personal info. I was in the market for auto insurance anyway, so that was fine with me.

GFK mystery shopping. They are on the official list of mystery shopping companies here. The link is at the bottom of each page.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Gfk has a shop where you either call an agent, a call center, or use online forms to get quotes from two different auto insurance companies. It pays 20.00 and you can only complete one, even though you will get a million emails a day after you've completed your one. And actually, I shouldn't have said it was super easy as I've since remembered that the report was like 200 questions. IIRC, it was mainly yes/no stuff, tho.
