As of right now there are five threads with Cast and/or Castforce listed on the first page of "Merchandising Assignments and Companies." I don't know why you wouldn't see them.

I too miss Castforce any not sure if I'm going to continue working for cast. I'm going to give it a couple months try but it's just not the same
It's like working for the cheap, un-knowledgeable, unprepared, misinformed, younger brother of Crossmark.
And Crossmark, with it's illiterate, manipulative, sometimes-lying area managers was bad enough.
I survived last week with no huge issues. That's a first since the beginning of January.
I was told I would make more money with Cast Retail vs Castforce because I was going to be paid for mileage, drive time and admin fees. It turned out they paid me nothing for training and many hours of trying to get the app on my phone with support.

Send your TOM an email, after each job is completed, giving the mileage, amount of time spent driving, and your total admin time. You may be pleasantly surprised. (I was.)

I have yet to figure that out. Honestly. I think if business continues to pick up it will be comparable to some degree. BUT. We are limited to 6 hours a day and 26 hours a week *think I'm right on the weekly*. Puts a limit on your earnings there. It *may* average out, but I doubt it. I have done the math several times and don't see how I can make 2K a month with CAST.

I have a question about my IPad. I used it on the first two assignments and it worked fine but today I was told I had to only use my IPhone as my IPad only works where there is wifi available and that I could not use my phone as a Hotspot. I really have trouble doing reports on my phone and I guess I will check on purchasing a new tablet if absolutely necessary. My question, do you have the mobile devise or do you have to have wifi before you can report results.
Who said you cannot use your iPhone as a hotspot?

I don't get what all the fuss is about? I am haven't had any kind of problems with Cast. My DM sent me tons of stores to go through jc and I had the choice to accept or decline. So I picked the ones that were all within 15 miles or less from me and as of now I have 24 stores that I will be taking care of myself. I then was sent an email saying there are shops to be scheduled so when I logged in, I saw the dates that they needed to be done by and scheduled them around work that I do for other companies. I print out my POG'S cuz I can't read on my tablet the print is way to small and it's just easier. I get everything I need shipped to my house so it's all put in the back of my van (don't have to worry about looking for it at the store) and then once my work is complete I take a few pictures, enter my work into my tablet and I'm done for the day. So the problem is...........
Are they really that picky about being there the time and day scheduled? I can't predict how long my other cycle and project work will take on any given day. I have a 1 week window. I start at 6am and work 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours per store. It all depends on the project and finding whatever I need, be it shelving, shippers, product, getting labels, etc. I thought I would be done by 11 yesterday, but the store couldn't find an 6 foot sign, so I was there until 12:15 digging through the fixture room and the upstairs storage. I if I had scheduled something for 12, no way I would have made it. Are they flexible if you show up the same day? Or a day early? I don't know my workload until the end of the week for the following week with my main companies, so I can't comfortably schedule out 2- 3 weeks. I would appreciate any clarification. The person who called me seemed unable to answer specific questions.
You can schedule 6 work hours per day. If you work a day earlier than scheduled, it has to be in the timeframe given. You need to reschedule it to that day though when you're ready to start. I always make my ending times 5 PM.

Here's the problem.

I'm thrilled you got tons of stores to go through. I'd bet no one else did. They just kind of pop up when a DM decides to assign them. There is a store available list you can request stores that way for the majority of us.

We were originally told a total untruth about pay. It's ironed out now but that's not the way to start a good working relationship.

I've also gotten snarky comments from QC about stuff that is NOT on the instructions.

I'm actually glad to hear someone is having a unicorn and rainbows time of it. No need to be snarky with the rest of us. smiling smiley
You don'tInc have to show up at the exact time you schedule your shop for, but there is a set blocked time for the time you're allowed to work. Some are 9:00 - 5:00, 7:00-3:00 or 8:00-7:00. These are some times I've seen. You can go a day earlier or later because there's an option to reschedule your assignments. From what I've seen the period to get the jobs done are about 5-7 days. Some jobs you're allowed to do on weekends while others you're not. One reset job I'm m starting on Thursday has hours from 8:00 - 7:00 Monday - Friday and 8:00 -4:00 Saturday - Sunday. They do limit you to work only 6 hours a day though, so you have to be careful about how you schedule things. The paperwork is just like Castforce and you print it out the same way too. I don't know what they mean about using their system, I use my tablet and phone and it's fine.
I hope this clears it up a little bit for you and anyone else who is curious.
In no way was I being "Snarky" I was just saying that it's not all that bad like everyone makes it out to be! It just seems that everyone got really ticked off when the switch happened and it didn't go smoothly so now all they do is bad mouth it. Iwas just trying to let people know if you want to go and try again it would be worth yourwhile. Just because your DM sends you stores doesn't mean you have to take them. There's an option to decline. So decline then and fill in the reason why, too far, safety issues, whatever it is. That's all I did. I kept rejecting and sending emails to her until I got what I wanted. It took a while but I wasn't going togive up. So if you take it as me being "snarky" sorry I thought I was being positive and helpful.
I'm sorry. I've had a long, hard day. I took it wrong. Rather than edit stuff out and leave everyone to wonder ...I really am sorry.

Like I said, I am glad it's been good for you. I'm sitting here bleary eyed (on top of long, hard day) trying to figure out how many little red dots equal 6 hours.
No, it can be true. And there's no DM, it's TOM and TOM only.
I only get the left overs; 25 miles for a 30 minute job....1 a day for 4 days straight.
Not me!
It sounded rather snarky, to me, and I had NOT had a long day when I read it from dishopper.......

Can't please everyone all of the time I guess. Don't take the job that far if you're going to complain about it! Now that's being "SNARKY!"
Me? I make mistakes all the time! I make the mistake of training people who show promise only to have them, in two weeks time tell me some horror story about their family and why they came in 4 hours late and then tell me they don't like resets and then quit; but not before they steal from the store we're working at. LOLOL

Snarky is no longer the word I would use for your messages. I sure love the ability to hide users.
AuburnHarleyMama, I had emailed and called my TOM and she would never answer. I heard from her when she needed me to cover some stores for her on a Sunday. I still didn't get an answer from her. She just complained about her working on a Sunday without being paid. That was the end for me.
