This sounds like fun, hence the reason why I signed up for so many. As soon as you spot a customer with one of their promotional bumper stickers, you give them a Sunoco $10.00 gift card and end the "event." If after one (1) hour there is no identified winner, done and on to the next.

The company also loans you a safety vest and pays for return shipping. Nice!

Before you ask, it's a major MSC and you're no doubt already signed up with them.

It might be with a new MSC or in a new area because my email said the program was new. I signed up for 6.

I should clarify, the program itself has been around
for years but it does change msc's often. Not sure
why though.

I remember seeing these years ago but can't recall which company they were with. Probably changed now anyway and I'm too lazy to spend the legwork to figure out who they're with now.

I gave you a pretty big hint. If you're signed up with them, you probably received an email from them this afternoon.

they cant dislike you too much as they still send
you their emails. I have one company that wont
even send me their emails.

I thought that I'd fill my day off from my regular job on July 4th with a mini route of 5 because I thought they sounded like fun too. We'll see how fun they are after the first three!

They're getting grabbed up really fast here in FL. I saw it on my phone but for some strange reason, I can't schedule them because I keep getting a response that I have too many tabs open and have to close one before I can proceed. I don't actually have too many open because I can click through on other MSC sites with no problem. So by the time I got home to my computer, all the nearby ones but one at the beach were already gone. It was only a matter of about two hours. I'd never done one before but realized that if everybody's taking them that fast, they must be well worth it.

$10.00 for possibly having to hang around for an hour? That sounds like low pay to me.

I thought the same thing. Also, I was scared of having narratives to go with the low pay due to the reputation of this MSC and its editors.

Chances are you won't have to wait an hour, rather only until an employee calls a friend to get their butt over to the station right away, and to bring the car with the sticker.

So the employees know when and why we are there? Do we have to announce ourselves ahead of time? Or just stalk people from the safety of our air-conditioned car?

Normally I wouldn't do this shop because of the price, but I picked up 13 that are very close to home so I won't have to be out in the holiday traffic...and it gives me a start on my July shops.

I remember when these paid 30 bucks a few years
ago. And 20 dollars last time they did them.

$10 definitely seems low if you end up having to wait the full hour. Hopefully they get bonuses if no one takes them.

The e-mail I received this morning says that now we have to wait the full hour and award as many winners as we spot during that hour. Are they serious? $10 for an hr? NOPE!

I received the following e-mail from a team of schedulers with the MSC. I have not included the signature line since it contains the name of the MSC and since we have already included the client name in this thread, I did not want to break any ICAs or the forum rules and have the wrath of a mod (just kidding) come down on me.

"I am writing in relation to your upcoming Sunoco “Free Fuel 5000 Spotter” shop(s). Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding for which we take full responsibility, we have inaccurate information in your shop comments and in some of the emails used to recruit for these shops.

ALL shoppers will need to stay at Sunoco for a full hour, awarding as many winners as you spot during that hour. Some of our previous communications stated that once you find 1 winner, you could conclude the shop – this is not accurate.

We apologize profusely for this issue! If you are no longer interested in performing your shop(s), please let us know. If you are still willing, we will be updating your Shop Comments and Guidelines today."

I only took two of these shops very close to where I live but I am still thinking that the possible workload (if there are many customers/winners) is not worth the $10.00/hour. If I could leave after the first winner like we were originally told, $10.00 for 15-20 minutes of work would not be bad. Is anyone else considering cancelling their shops?

seems like they should increase the pay now since there
is more work involved then they realized. By the time you
enter the report and travel less than minimum wage

I have one of the decals in front of me and it comments, in addition to $5,000 of Sunoco Fuel going to 10 grand prize winners, "Plus, over 10,000 customers will win $10 Sunoco gift cards just getting spotted at Sunoco."

I would do it for 100 dollars. Just get one of those hats
that have that fan attached to it that blows a cool mist
onto you.

You can get that hat at "Dorks R Us!"

cease you can find them in most states in the South. Walmart
will also have them in some stores in the northeast as I've seen them there.
They also have a fan that you wear around your neck.

Lowes [hardware, not food] also has towels and hats that actually cool you when wet. I'm not sure how the physics of them work, but I'm thinking of getting one to try during an outdoor photoshoot.

And I'm going to have to give some thought to the Sunoco shops now.
