Wait she actually gets paid to eat at Five Guys

I had a dinner shop scheduled tonight and there was a high school girl who took my order. She laughed as I was taking my order and I had a whim that she knew who I was. After I placed my order, the girl got the broom and started sweeping up part of the restaurant where there was a group of high schoolers that knew her. She whispered something and all of a sudden one of the girls said, "Wait, she actually gets paid to eat at Five Guys." Then the whole table stared at me. I looked up to 6 teenagers looking at me and my first response was - did they just call my number?

It looks like I'm going to be banned from this location. Boo.

I've never done a dinner shop and have never seen any of the employees working here tonight. Yep, there's got to be a mugshot in the back with my pic. I hope I at least looked cute in my pic =)
Save yourself! Go in for a lunch when you're on your way to or from other shops. They'll think you're shopping and give you great service. No report ensues. They'll be confused, disappointed and p.o'd. I knew a BWW shop had me spotted, so I went in for lunch twice with no report following. I'm sure employees were dazed and confused. I think I'll go back one more time before I shop them again!
So the problem is that I had already scheduled to shop them for next weekend. A scheduler called me begging to do it this weekend, to with a decent bonus, so I did. Do I call and cancel next weekend or go ahead and stick it out b/c I know they are going to block me from the shop.
I'd call and cancel and then eat there without a shop being scheduled a couple of times. If you're recognized you may not be paid for the weekend shop anyway. I'd meet this one head on with my scheduler.
How long do they block you from shops? I only see two in my area anymore and one of them is on my 10 foot pole list because of how bad that location is. The last time i went there I actualy had to grab my own drink because all they gave me at the register was the receipt

But usually they give you a cup with your receipt. I had to grab my own. I went in with a web order they gave me my receipt and said pick up your order over there. I went over there then hsad to walk back and grab a cup for my drink.
I have been blocked for nearly a year now, keep waiting to see them back on my list but so far no go. I was either discovered or they got tired of my description of the fries.
I have heard but never confirmed that they DO have a pic in the backroom of the shoppers. They DO match it to video. No firm confirmation though that this is true there.
As long as I can shop I will shop any place, if asked I say what is that...

Never give up a shop or money because of something you think, my nearest 5 Guys treat me as a regular since I go there a lot. But i only take shops when the call since the regular shops are not worth the $$ in my opinion.

So as long as they say, "Do you want to do a 5 Guys for....." I will say sure.
Screw it. I'm doing the shop next week and I'm busting out my Elvira wig. (I'm a blonde)

Ha
I did one shop on the way home from shopping one day. Wore my Stetson pulled down low enough to cover my face from the cameras. I wonder if they have that photo hanging in the back room. But then again I think they would remember that if I did that again.
Each time I think, 'they are onto me' - I end up with a whole different crew of people who don't know me. It could happen!

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
I believe the manager compares the shop date/time from the report, and then checks the security footage to identify the shopper.
Interesting! Did you or do you work for 5Gs?

In any case, if this is true, IMO, 5Gs is wasting their money on mystery shops.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
I think it's only a problem if they say they knew it was you. If it was a good shop they woukd be foolish to complain. I would stop in one more time before next weekend to throw them off.
I personally would not shop these on my time off unless you REALLY like the food. At a minimum of $10.50 per meal they do not pay enough to do so and it will take several visits on the clock to make up the loss of one visit on your own to deflect attention.
I used to do one every time I was out doing a days worth of shops, there was always one along the route and I usually got some kind of bonus.

I had done one that got a semi not so good review. It wasn't horrible but not great either. This one was in a major shopping center so it would be completely normal for them to have repeat customers and even very regular customers.

I walked back into the shop over a month later and as I walk in the door the manager literally snaps her neck doing a double take and talks quickly and quietly to the rest of the crew. As I approach I hear the fry guy say, "but we don't get shopped on Thursday".

As he's shaking the fries he's looking at me.

I was clearly busted.

My point is, the only way they could have recognized me was by matching the time to the tape and having my picture.

Anyway, I didn't get blocked from them right away a few months later they disappeared. I figured I hit some kind of maximum. They just came back last month...it was about a 5 month layoff.
I just got that phone call I set to ring with the Looney Tunes ring tone. It was for a 30 minute before closing shop. It was being offered for $8 and then $9 all month. I told them my price was $25 half hoping they'd turn me down. With the speed they accepted my offer, I should have said $30.

I can take a few bites out of a grilled cheese with tomato at 9:30 pm and this location has the Coke Freestyle machine so I can make the drink lemon flavored soda water. Now to only eat a few fries this late.

Hopefully, they have the place cleaned up and are ready to close. I don't want to need to write a negative report as I know I'm going to be the only one there.

If a place employs teenagers and you can shop them during school hours, you may get away with it without being noticed.
When I walked into the same Five Guys, a month after I shopped it the first time. The manager had clearly read my report, because I said the burgers were too big. She started ringing in my burger as a "little Burger, " I said, no I wanted a regular Burger. I know she knew, but that location still shows up on my board. The first time I was there, she had comped my meal, because the debit machine was not working, and I had to report why my meal was "Free," in my report. I have not been back, but that is because the pay for those shops suck! They never get bonused, and I have even seen them still on the board, not assigned, during the exact hours that the shop needed to be completed. I trully wonder if they get all those shops completed. If they do it is becasue people like the food, not because people like the pay!

I just rocked out my Elvira wig. The cashier kept staring at me . . . but they were overdue on their time. They obvi didn't realize I was their shopper. Ha.
Hey guys,

Just popping in here quickly. In my experience as a Five Guys worker, people at my store do not care to identify shoppers. If somebody makes us think that a person is a shopper we might put a little extra effort into making sure we're golden, but we either kill it or don't, and we know it. There is no reason for us to try to figure out who the shoppers are, since we take problems as room for improvement.

I don't know if this is the case at all franchises, but in my region, you would all be fine to continue shopping. And we (the local stores) don't keep pictures of our shoppers.
