I'd rather hear from paypal than those recorded political campaign ads. I can look forward to to five or six of those a day come prime election season and there is no way to stop them. (People say, just turn off the ringer or unplug the phone. Why should I have to do that to stop politicians, who have exempted themselves from the no-call list, from harassing me?)
I liked the other article about the police chief recording himself messing with the scammer. It's in the sidebar to the right of the PayPal article.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
All the more reason for a separate number to give to companies that don't really have to call you. Google voice works for me.
