Liz, I can't say for sure because that may vary somewhat from company to company but in my case I sometimes see shops that require certification before I can actually get an assignment. My best guess is that you see whatever shops they are willing to assign you at this time whether you are certified or not. What I mean by that is that as you are with a company longer and prove yourself on simpler shops it's possible they will offer you more detailed and difficult work you may not be able to see when you first sign up with them.
