Has anyone received information about this company. The info came from Jancyn and is an app for the iPhone.'
There were several shops that were listed in my area. It requires me to send a w-9 and an copy of the independent contract form. The only question that I have is that I did not request the information about the app. ANd of course, sending in the W-9 with my SS #.
I have done work for Jancyn.

Why do they need your w-9..I know Jancyn, but haven't cheked their jobs for awhile. I'd ask the scheduler, remember your giving your soc sec#.

Isecret shop is legit. We at NWLPC use this new platform fir some clients. When we send out job announcements for these types of shops we do advise shoppers that they have to have an IPhone and how to download the free app.
As for the W-9 more companies are requiring this. In the event of an audit we may be asked to provide the W-9's as proof that we are using independent contractors. Being an IC means you are in business for yourself and are required toreport taxes whether you make $600 a year from an individual MS company or not.

W-9s and 2 forms of ID are more generally used for employees than for ICs, so I have found this increasing practice to be puzzling. It seems to counterindicate exactly what the MS companies think they are trying to prove.

W-9'S are used to show you are an IC. If you look there is a space for you to mark if you are sole proprietor (which most shoppers are), a corporation or an LLC.
The 2 forms of ID are for companies hiring employees and is required for I-9's. I-9's are required for all employees as verification they are legal to work in the US. I'9's are audited by the Immigration Customs Enforcement and is not required for IC's
