Gas can ignites in man's car while driving

Details in the news report are still scarce but
this is a good reason why you should not
be driving with gas can in your car unless
absolutely necessary and never in an unapproved
container.

A gas can ignited in a man's car as he was driving through Sanford, Florida, sending him to the hospital with 2nd-degree burns

Trashman, that's funny but driving with gas in a can or any other container in your car is a serious risk.

I read that and immediately wondered if it was one of several guys I know who do gas shops in that area. I sure hope not. I used approved cans when I used to do the gallon here, gallon there routes and sometimes found the cans in the trunk bulged out at the end of the day from the gas having heated up in the trunk. Decided that was not so smart.

That gives me the cold shivers, just hearing about it!
I was at a gas station audit and saw this yahoo putting gas in two milk containers. I told the manager immediately but she did nothing. sad smiley
I saw a gallon gas can in the middle of the road the other day. Mr Cat went and pushed it to the side so nobody would run it over. We debated taking it home (it was empty) but left it there.

The manager looked at the situation as "Gas sold" and was not worrying about the short end consequences. I hope the "yahoo" made it to his destination before anything detrimental happened.

Unfortunately some people are not aware of what they have in their care, in case they run out of gas. And other people are unaware of what stored cans of gas can do until extreme and normal conditions.

I dislike walking from the gas station to my home with a gas can.
