No response from scheduler?

I went onto a company's job board, and the jobs are listed without the names of the client or much detail about the shop, not even an address, so it's hard to tell what kind of shop it is other than that it's a restaurant. I wanted to find out if they were casual and if I'd be able to bring my child, so I called the MSC. They referred me to someone who works in another office who is responsible for scheduling in my area, so I called and left a message, but I haven't heard back from this person. I've had to call them before with a question, and they didn't return my call then, either.

I'm debating about calling the MSC again and explaining that I just want to get some more info, but I don't want to get the person in trouble at all for not calling me back, especially if it's the person responsible for scheduling me...

It's frustrating not being able to know if I should even apply for the jobs, let alone that I'm not getting called back. Any advice?

First check the board to see that the shop is still there. If someone has taken it in the interim, then there would have seemed to be no point in the scheduler calling you back (they don't think future months it would seem but rather what must be done NOW).

If the job is still there I would call the MSC again and ask for information about the job if it is self-assign. If it is not self-assign, I would continue attempting to reach the scheduler.

On a larger scale, though, if they can't even be responsive about you WANTING to work with them, think how difficult it would be if you had questions regarding instructions or pay.

Good point, Flash, thanks. Unfortunately for me, I've done some previous shops for them that I enjoyed, so I was hoping to do more.
Sounds like the MSC should be mystery shopping their own schedulers...

It is not just you. If they do not need you immediately, chances are you will not hear from them. My big gripe is that no matter what MSC you can almost never get ahold of a scheduler on the weekends, even though we have shops and reports on the weekends. I have lost shops because of this and very unfair.
That does stink. I have to say, though, I've reached someone at Amusement Advantage even on a Sunday morning. Can't speak highly enough about them and their availability/communication, either by email or phone. Too bad there aren't more companies like that...

I think I'm giving up on the one in my original post. It just isn't worth the aggravation, especially when there are other companies that communicate better and are more appreciative of shoppers.

If this is the MSP I'm thinking of, it sounds par for the course. Nothing to go on but 'restaurant', 'automotive', 'grocery', et al, and the zip. Until you accept a shop, response will likely be non-existent. You accept the shop, then inquire ~ response is 50/50. I've had better luck telephoning; however, I still feel that with this MSP, until it's a known factor (completed shop), it's a pig in a poke, and I may have no choice but to make executive decisions, and hope for the best.
I know of two MSC's that purposely wont give you the name of the restaurants or the name of the shop or how many questions are in the survey. And they do it on purpose - you'll notice they keep advertising and advertising the same shop because of it. People have caught on and wont take the shops or when they find out its 80 questions for $10 they cancel.

Its a wonder it never dawns on the MSC they'd have less trouble filling jobs if they were more honest about what it was.
