can you imagine the pittance they entice you with for a $1 and some people actually do these shops! amazing how do you respect a company that has the unmitigated gall to offer a $1 and then turn around and offer $57 for the same shop. I would NEVER work for a company like that? Sounds like a bunch of scoundrels, why not pay a fair fee to begin with and not have to horse around with the wild swings. Oh , I'll tell you why... because there are "pin heads" that actually accept jobs for a buck..... stay home you housecoaters .. now go forth and be dominated!
Take the job at the $57 bucks, SDG.

$57!!!! Go, girl, go! I haven't worked for them because the pay is SO-O-O-O low, but I'd sure work for $57
Nice!

It fits. Like when I got the notice a shop had an increased fee. Yes, it did. It went from $8 to $8.02. Oooh baby! The only attention that got from me was a huge laugh.

Yes, a bit of comic relief. And it sure makes it tough to take the provider seriously on anything.
I never see them go anywhere near higher here. Too many shoppers in Austin. And I'm guessing a lot of them jump right on those low pay shops cause I almost never see them go up more than 50 cents before they are gone. Maybe if just once I saw it go real high it might break the barrier for me and I might work for them .....
That is the highest I've seen it go. That is the first time I've seen that location, too. It was a wee bit of a drive and involved a ferry boat to get there... so that is probably why it wasn't snatched up before. winking smiley

I do see some of the gas shops go up to $25 around my area. I'm just not that into the mechanics of that particular shop to make them worthwhile for me as a regular shop.

I see that you're posting and reading different parts of this forum. Welcome. As you continue reading, you'll see why shoppers don't/can't always name names.
akm81 - also, don't expect that particular shop to go that high in your area, necessarily. This one particular location is fairly remote and required me taking a ferry to get there, for which I paid $7 round-trip out of my own pocket.
The gas shops never get past $10 in my area. Or ike $9.73 to be exact. Too many shoppers here.
How do some of you know what company they are talking about? No company name was mentioned. How do you know? While I'm asking, why can we mention different companies to complain or ask about them, but we can't mention company names about certain shops I want to find. Like Burger King or Wendy's.
Because we all are signed up with the company, so can tell by description exactly what clients are being discussed. Read your ICA's. Those are why we can't mention the client and the MSC in the same thread.

The way to find shops is to do the work...sign up with companies and find out who does the ones you want that way. No one is going to hand you shops.

So yes, we could complain about the Burger King shop or we could complain about the company but we had best not complain about ABC company's Burger King shop. I know it sounds complicated and convoluted. It is. But it is not meant meanly or arrogantly on our part to be just refusing to tell you directly. And yes, I know who does the Cinnabon shops because I am signed up with the company and have seen them in the list of companies for which I can undertake the qualifications (that right there should be an absolutely huge clue to you as to who does them because how many companies are you signed up with that offer such a list of their clients to get qualified for?)

sherryshops, I feel your frustration. When I found this forum it was wonderful, yet everyone spoke Greek but me. I'm still the worst at understanding who shops whom when hints are posted. My advice is to keep reading everything here. Make notes if you pick up on a tidbit that is of interest to you.

As you sign with MSPs, keep a list of who their clients are. That's helpful twofold. First, you're not relying on your memory to recall hundreds of MSP/Client relationships. And, say you have MarketForce as shopping BananaBerrySplitStore, if someone posts TurtleIceCreamery is shopped by the same MSP who does BananaBerry - you'll then know who it is.

And you've already read 1000 times, I'm sure, to keep signing with more MSPs and check their job boards as often as possible.

Good luck!
Umm, not if this the same gas shop as this one originally posted in the "what's the worst mystery shop/audit/whatever you guys have had?" thread by mrcomputer101. That post is copied below.

<<<It was unusual for a certain company to show a gas shop higher than $4. This one was @$42.00, but only a backup position available. I selected myself for the backup position anyways. Imagine my suprise when I got it. Location was some distance away from me in a part of Alabama when they have to pump sunshine in...winking smiley

I drove past a million pine trees on a single lane road before I found it. This place had definately seen better days. Various sized bullet holes in the sign and building should have warned me right off. Like a Dumb A**, I stopped and attempted to perform the shop, anyways.

Got my $1 gas and headed inside, camera in hand, to capture a bathroom picture. There in the center of the store was a young boy who could easily been the stunt double in the movie "Deliverance". He was ragged and dirty right down to his bare feet. Made my way quickly to the bathroom and stood inside with my back against the door. I had just taken the first picture when I heard his voice screaming, "Halp! Halp!, Theres a Pervert in the bathroom taking pictures!". Later found out he had a Peep Hole!

I quickly exited the bathroom and found my way blocked by the crazy boy, his father the CSR,(Both his eyes pointed in different directions and neither one focused on me), and grandpaw brandishing a sawed off shot gun. The whole time I kept thinking, "Paddle faster Mr.C, Paddle faster".

I whipped out my authorization letter from my back pocket and explained I was making observations so the oil company would fix things for them. After grandpaw read the letter aloud to the other 2, things calmed down. They then insisted I take pictures of everything, including a couple of family shots. I left as soon as possible and did my report.

Next my favorite company informed me that I would not be paid because I was biased. Biased? I went to arbitration and got paid anyways.

Anyone got anything to compare with this?...winking smiley>>>

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
His was, to say the least, an 'unusual experience'. I have done a bunch of these when the price got 'ripe' and they are basically no brainers. A shopper friend who has just started doing these got caught taking the photos and quickly quipped she thought the sunset was beautiful and was trying to get enough 'foreground' to help ground the photos. I remember my first bathroom shot on one of those, with my back to the door to stop incoming users. Somebody hit the door almost at a run and I just barely held on to the camera smiling smiley Luckily it was a kid who only looked puzzled at me as she dashed into a stall . . .
Could be. Glad someone was paying attention. They are up to 9.79 on one here right now. WOW!!!...winking smiley

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
> "Halp! Halp!, Theres a Pervert in the bathroom taking pictures!". Later found > out he had a Peep Hole!

*confused over here*

If he had made a peep hole into the bathroom and was obvsiously looking through it when the shopper was in there, then wasn't he himself the pervert?

I probably would have reported that directly to the company.
I do those shops when they get ripe. I once had the company call me about one in a town that was a fair distance from me. As it happened I was in that town that day for something else so of course I said yes to the 50.00 that was offered. What I found unusual was I knew that particular store had been closed for several months. When I got there I took pictures of the big holes where they had dug up the tanks and the closed sign on the PID. Since these stores are done every month I can't imagine that they did not know it was out of business. So that was a quick and easy 50.00 for me that helped make up for some of the other shops that paid too little for the work.
You'd think/hope the company would have known it was long gone. Just your good luck!
Those high dollar ones are few and far between. Usually they are in hard to reach areas. One time I snagged one for 62 dollars and change but I had to go up a mountain on a two lane road to a crossroads in the middle of nowhere. Still for 62.00 it was worth it. I usually check their boards every morning before I start on my day. Then when I see the price get to what experience has taught me is top end I will snatch them up. Since I live in the mountains in a mostly rural setting I get to pick up several good paying one every couple of months.
