New to Maritz

Is it possible that I can read the client paperwork and detailed requirements before assigning?

They called me to ask if I wanted to do a bank shop, and I'm the type of person that likes to know precisely what I need to look for before I even accept the assignment. Their walk-thru (in the help section) shows that I can only see that info AFTER requesting assignment.

I have done some retail shops for other MSCs that required wayyy too much for the shop fee. It isn't worth me assigning and messing up a shop bc I couldn't keep up with all the points I need to remember.

You will get my and better help if you post questions about specific MSCs in the forum section about companies. I don't do Maritz shops, so I can't help you.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I was afraid of that. I try so hard to check of the topic has been discussed, I forget if I'm posting in the correct forum!

Thanks!
Well, I don't know where this thread started but it's in the right location now. Sometimes you can ask the scheduler to email you the instructions. But Maritz bank shops are generally notoriously easy with a dead simple report with no timings or descriptions to worry about. the biggest thing is to make sure you're in the right branch because it's not unheard of for there to be two at nearly the same address; I blew one once by shopping the branch on the corner instead of the one inside the grocery store that shared a parking lot with the one i went into.

the first time you do it, it will take you awhile to do the photos. remember to hand write the shop ID number on the documents before you scan or photograph them. But if you forget, they'll kick it back so you can re-do them.

I've done 11 of these shops in one day between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., that's how quick and easy they are. just go in, ask the question, get the information and don't be too chatty. Most of the time I'm in the branch less than 5 minutes if i don't have to wait for a banker. Remember to notate what time you went in and what time you came out.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
The bank shops are very quick and easy and the de-briefing is also easy with very little narrative. There are three types: phone call only where you must speak with a banker, combo phone call and branch visit and overdraft protection where you visit a bank and no phone call. You must speak with a banker in all cases - no tellers. You will be limited to 30 total visits per month within a 30 mile radius. The time on the phone is 3 to 5 minutes and the time in front of a banker is usually 8 to 10 minutes, for me. Good advice is be straight forward, listen more than talk and try not to be memorable.

Good luck, have fun.
The poster did post in the Mystery Shopping Company Discussion forum. I just posted something in here too about Goodwin Hospitality and I thought this was the correct place to post?
I originally posted this in the New Shopper forum.

Thanks, Mods, for moving this to the appropriate forum!
Thanks for the info Jake and dspeakes!

I went ahead and requested one for my first shop (an overdraft bank shop.)

I am relieved to hear it is generally pretty simple. The replies help me know that this is exactly the type of shop I would want as my first with a new MSC!

An ODP shop with Maritz is what I recommend for any new shopper to start with. And the people at Maritz are nice and answer the phone.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

When I accepted a [name deleted] shop, I asked for the scheduler to go over with me on the phone how much work was involved. Without the bonus it wouldn't have been worth doing. I too like to know exactly what I'm getting into after reading here things like the horrors of Ikea.

Mod note: MSC has already been named so please don't name the client.
Welp. I requested the ODP shop the day before yesterday for my first assignment.

Today I requested a new April Combo one.

I've yet to be approved or scheduled for one. I suppose I should call them?
My advice would be to try one or two of each to get a feel for them. Do a great job and then if there are bonused shops in your area you'll get calls asking you to do them. I find Maritz to be unafraid to pull out the checkbook sometimes to get a shop done. I dot my i's and cross my t's with them (actually with everyone) so that they know I"ll give them what they need.
*Your experience may vary depending on your area and the mood of the supervisor at the time.

This company is becoming one of my favorites because they are easy to communicate with and whenever unsure about a shop you can call them and they can explain the shop in more detail. I have done several ODP shops with and without bonuses. The first few were a bear to get all the pictures uploaded in the right size and rotated etc. But now it's a breeze and I'm ready for the next round. It takes about 15 minutes in the bank and 15 minutes to load the pictures and complete the report. I aim for 4 per trip to make it worth my time and mileage. Best of luck!
Yay! I did my first shop! The ODP one. It was super simple. I had a ton of papers to take with me and take pictures of. I hope I got all the right documents. There was one about deposit account agreements that I didn't have. I had everything else, the blue folder, the business card, the brochures about debit & checking, and the rates.

I didn't leave any photo questions blank, so I think I did it.

Super easy. The toughest part was taking the photos, labeling them and resizing.
