Paypal

Hi I am new to shopping and wonder about paypal. Does it take longer to get the money in an account? I have done 2 shops for About Face and 2 shops for Second to None and still have not seen the money. When I checked, the pay period ended 10/23. Thanks

No, it really does not. Two days ago I got an email asking if I preferred payment by check or Paypal. I mentioned Paypal was a preference and gave the address, but that check was acceptable. Fifteen minutes later I had the payment in my Paypal account. Five minutes after that I had set up a transfer to my bank. This morning the money was in my bank. If I had been paid by check I probably would receive it the middle of next week . . .

When a company is ready to make a payment, Paypal works very quickly.
Cathi1954: I am a big fan of PayPal. It doesn't cost anything to receive money and it transfers to your bank account in a couple of days. It sounds like the issue may be with the MSC's not the funding mechanism.
Just an FYI, I think Second to None is one that passes along that PayPal fee to you. Double check and if it is opt for direct deposit, free and fastest of all.

PayPal, is used by a number of MSC's and they pay the fee you will get exactly what you have coming. second-to-none pays on the 15th after the month your reports are in so for October you get paid around the 15th on November.
One of my favorite companies, Massolutions, pays you 2 weeks earlier (in about 10-15 days total) if you use Paypal instead of wanting a check in the mail. I love it!

Once in a while, if you are getting a large enough sum from any one company that does not usually send large sums through Paypal, someone on the MSC end will forget and let it go through with a charge to you. w
When I have emailed the MSC about this they have sent me the missing funds. (This was not a problem with Massolutions, and I really do not remember which MSCs have sometimes had this issue. Not memorable because it was dealt with quickly and fairly, lol.)

I could have sworn they deducted from payments through PayPal and this is directly from their website, " For US shoppers selecting the convenience of PayPal, a processing fee of $1.00 is deducted from the total monthly payment."

Originally I was paid with them through PayPal and with this change also came the option for no fee direct deposits.

My mistake.

Some months ago when STN offered the option, I elected to be paid direct deposit by them, as that is my preference. Certainly my preference is not to pay a fee to be paid!
I actually couldn't be sure when I originally posted that and wanted to double check. I like PayPal well enough but DD is the absolute bestsmiling smiley

There is no deduction from PayPal on any of my MSC payments. I get a notice from the MSC and then PayPal also notifies me.
You may not be signed up with any which charge a fee or you are using another method for receiving your money. In addition to Second to None, CORI also passes along a fee of 3% up to $1.50. I've discovered that any MSC which will not cover the PayPal fee will provide another free option for receiving payments. So far I've only had one company that did not inform me of a fee prior to payment and refused to cover the fee after the fact.

Glad this thread came along, just checked both CoRI and STN to make sure I was on DD, I was. Hard to remember that stuff when I started out signing up for a bazillion companies.
CoRI is upfront about the fees being charged. STN was a little disappointing when they changed over because there was just a very small blurb on the website which was easy to miss. I was on the V forum at that time and many shoppers did miss the notice and were totally unaware until it came up on a thread there.

How do I set up an account? Do I need to do a shop first. I am really needing information. Thanks.
Go to Paypal.com and register. They have free accounts. Before you register realize that you want to use the same email address for the Paypal account as you use to shop, so set up the email that you will use for mystery shopping first. I strongly recommend using a separate account for your mystery shopping with a generic kind of name such as ArkansasSally@gmail.com or SarahShops@gmail.com. Use the account only for mystery shopping.

When money comes into your Paypal account you will need to access it. I do a withdrawal to a savings account which I can subsequently go on line with my bank and swing the money over into my checking account to pay bills. Some folks decide to get the Paypal debit card. I believe there is a cost for having Paypal send you a check, so read through your options and figure out what works best for you. I also believe there may be a charge for a 'business account' so what you want is an individual account.
