I think I screwed up my shops

I did my first RSG shop today. I am not sure how picky they are, but I feel I might be starting out on the wrong foot. My shop was for several brand specific items at one location. The associate wasn't wearing a name tag and I didn't get the associates name. I suppose I figured it would be like one of the other companies I had shopped with that had an option for "no name tag", however, the report just had a line for the associate's name. I am hoping this wasn't a major fail!

My other shop with the same scenario/different store went better. I captured all the names, however, there were several items they didn't carry. The associate actually suggested I go to a different store for that brand/model, however!! I couldn't put he didn't recommend that brand, but when I answered that it made me answer the model, which he didn't recommend exclusively. I selected it, because I couldn't complete the survey without selecting it and wrote notes in the narrative to say why I selected it, but that it wasn't true.

So, I think I screwed one up because I didn't get the name, and I think I possibly filled the report out wrong on the other. Here's hoping I still get paid!

You should just write out the description of the employee where the name goes.If you didn't give a description,the report will be sent back for one. As long as you wrote what really happened in the comments section, it will be fine. I've done several of these and the report won't let you submit unless you click on the boxes even when it don't apply.

Thanks, Pamala. I did write a description of the employee and note there was no name tag. Next time, however, I may find a way to get the employee's name so I can rest easy!

As long as you get a description they will accept it. They're a great company and not nit picky like some are.

I did 2 shops for a company I had never worked with before on the same day (one a nice restaurant and the other a shoe store) and NONE of the employees at either place were wearing name tags. The restaurant one required the name of the hostess, the name of the server, the name of the manager if you saw him (or her), AND the name of the bartender. LOL. Needless to say, I was freaking out because I had no names at all to write down. It turned out neither of these establishments have name tags for their employees - you think that would have been noted somewhere in the shop description. So all was fine - I just noted descriptions and nothing was said about it by the msc.

I did get a response back on one shop saying they no longer accepted ads as proof of being there, even though in the shop instructions that I printed it says they accept them. When I looked online, they now updated the instructions. They didn't say they are not paying me, but they didn't say they are paying me. I emailed the editor back and told them I did get a receipt at the one store because I made a purchase. (the instructions didn't say receipt as proof of being there, oddly enough). Unfortunately at the other store I was going to take a picture of the store as proof, but the associate that helped me went out to smoke and was standing in front of the building. Since the guidelines that I printed said an ad was okay, I went back up and got an ad instead. But now an ad is not okay? AARGH! I'll be a little ticked if they don't pay me because the instructions should have been updated when I was assigned the shop. If they don't pay me, I certainly won't shop for them again.

I usually play it cutesy "You are soooo sweet, what was your name?" In certain areas of the Country I have also found out that you can get almost ANY information if you start a sentence with, "Bless your heart!"

I get a kick out of "sayings" in different parts of the country....I personally never say Bless your heart, we don't talk like that in L.A.
unless (perhaps) your a Born again......we'd get looks, just not a normal thing to say here. I had a Server introduce herself yesterday, and I said,
that's a beautiful name (truth), she told me how it's spelled, Alexandrea,
instead of the normal Alexandra, and I find, most Servers are trained to
introduce if not wearing a name tag. I otherwise would say, "What's your name, and then thank you Jessica". I find getting too gushy is a giveaway,
and not what a regualr customer would do....however, location does play into things, guess folks in L.A. play it cool and are laid back.

When my sister from CA visits me (OH), she always says, "If one more person calls me "sweetie" or "honey", I am going to slap them." I laugh, because it is just the norm here.

That's a pet peeve of mine. A hairdresser at Great Clips called me by name when it was my turn and then kept calling me sweetie and honey. I told her she knew my name and needed to use it. The terms of endearment were unprofessional and totally inappropriate considering she had never met me before.

There is a young man who I deal with for business who keeps calling me sweetie. I finally told him that him saying that makes be feel old. He said he calls lots of women 'sweetie'. I replied, "but I bet none of them are between 17-35". He laughed, agreed and apologised.
For me, sweetie is something you call either a child or an old lady.

I am cornpone Southern.....and a little old lady....my comment is usually..."Gosh you look so familar.....what is your name....where do I know you from?".......has worked so far...
