Yes you have to pay taxes. We aren't lawyers around here. You should either check with a lawyer or whoever administers disability benefits in order to determine the type of work you are allowed to do and you maximum allowable monthly income.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

You are allowed to make a certain amount of money each year without cutting back on your disability benefits. PM me with any questions...

My sister checked into this a while back. She was advised not to do Mystery shopping. The disability administers will view it as "regular income." From my understanding from here she cannot do a job that has a regular income. If she can perform the job regularly then she is employable
If working regularly versus sporadically is the criteria then mystery shopping would fit since there is no regular schedule or regular income.

Mystery Shopping is sporatic work. It is observational versus physical.

I agree. I know they SS administration told my sister regular income. I dont see the issue. They dont have an issue with SSI clients to go ay their bills or do their daily shopping. So whats the big deal I think the income level may be the bigger issue. They dont want people with disabilities to make more money than they are willing to give which is not much. Definately not enough to live on.
My sister is on SSDI and has been okayed to do shops, as long as her monthly income does not exceed a certain amount. BUT the first person she talked to didn't understand about IC work, so she had to contact the Disability rights organization in her state to get it sorted out. She is able to make serveral hundred dollars a month with no problems, reports the income; pays the taxes. No problems.
