Is this legit or scam

Hi, i am a new mystery shopper and today i got an email from bestmark which is i applied. and now i just wants to make sure if i got a legit email from bestmark person, because i am afraid some people just use bestmark name to get some money, thank you

and do i really need a work card to work in NV state? Is it means Employment Authorization card or special card as a mystery shopper?

Greetings!
I am xxxx the Nevada Regional Coordinator for BestMark Mystery
Shopping. You are receiving this email because you recently applied to
become a BestMark shopper.
I am once again adding new shoppers in Nevada and would like to get you
started mystery shopping as soon as possible. The regulations for Mystery
Shopping in Nevada are different than anywhere else in the country.

As you may be aware, the State of Nevada requires that all mystery shoppers
hold a valid work card for mystery shopping and all mystery shopping
companies must hold a valid Private Investigator's license in order to hire
mystery shoppers. BestMark is one of the few companies who are legally able
to work in Nevada and we are currently adding new shoppers in Nevada.

Please indicate to me if you already have a Work Card and are conducting
assignments for another mystery shopping company. You will not have to
reapply for a work card. I will send you over the required paperwork and you
can have it processed and send me a copy of your current work card as well.
As soon as that is complete, you can begin taking assignments immediately!
If you do not currently have a work card from another mystery shopping
company, I can send you the necessary paperwork and instructions for online
registration with the Nevada Private Investigator's Licensing Board. The
work card currently costs $90.00, all of which will be reimbursed to you
once you have successfully completed 8 shops for us in Nevada!
We currently have assignments in the following cities for various clients:
Carson City, Elko, Henderson, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Pahrump, Reno and Sparks.

I am looking for people to start right away and would love to hear from
those of you who are interested. Please email me at xxx.com and
let me know if you'd like an information packet with the required paperwork.

Please also tell me a little bit about yourself and why you're interested in
becoming a BestMark mystery shopper (or why you think you'd be a good
mystery shopper). REMEMBER that your replies reflect a great deal about
yourself and your ability to follow specific instructions and provide good
detail (both of which are required to be successful mystery shoppers).

Also include a tentative date that you'd be available to get through the
registration and have the paperwork processed.

Thanks so much and I look forward to working with you! If there are
questions I can answer at any point, please let me know!

Yes, Nevada requires a special work card that allows you to work under the supervision of a licensed PI agency. The penalties for doing shops in NV without such authorization are quite stiff. Do a search here, using all dates, for "Nevada" and you will find lots of info.

Thank you all, and best of luck to all of you smiling smiley

I have received an email from someone from ssn 2013 and found you in my search. I have been interested in this business but feel I need more information about you. Please send me that information and I will be glad to respond. Thank you very much, Gina Larson
Gina, you have found a forum of mystery shoppers, not a mystery shopping business. It sounds like you have never registered with any mystery shopping company and received an unsolicited e-mail. If that is the case the e-mail you have is spam and you should not have any more contact with them. Most of the scams will include links (don't click on them) and offers of incredibly high pay ($200 or more per assignment) which is paid in advance. The average mystery shop actually pays anywhere from $5 to $15 and we are never, ever, ever, paid in advance for our work. We perform assignments, make any necessary purchases and we are then paid anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months later.

As recommended above, read the first six threads in this section as they will provide most of the information needed to start mystery shopping. There is also a list of a couple hundred legitimate mystery shopping companies which can be linked to at the bottom of each page.
