How to scan long receipts?

Hello!
I'm looking for some insight on how to submit a long receipt. There is only one item on it, but between the survey, coupon, yadda yadda...it is very lengthy. I can fit it diagonally across the glass on my scanner, but is this unprofessional? I tried to email the contact person for this shop, but I got an auto reply that they are out of the office until tomorrow. I need to submit this tonight. I'm wondering if I should take 2 close up digital images and submit them. Is there a "standard" for this type of thing? As always, thank you in advance.

I always leave off any part that doesn't fit on my scanner. As long as it's "filler" and not actual receipt information I've never had a problem.

I generally snap a picture of mine rather than scan it, but like the other two have said- If it's not essential to the actual receipt (total, time, date) then I just fit what I can and roll with it. I've never had a problem that way. So, to answer your question, I'd keep it straight and fit what you can if the extra info is not "important."
Some MSPs want the entire receipt. I have cut long receipts in half, and scanned the halves side by side. Some MSPs do not want the receipt "tampered" with. With those, I do creative accordion folds. You could also reduce the size when scanning, though that may make it difficult to read.
