Audit Shops

I'm new to mystery shopping and I have just completed my first 3 shops with relative ease, but am confused about doing audits. I noticed that there are several audits lised for this month and all are close to my home. I am reluctant to sign up for them though as there isn't a lot of information about them. Can anyone tell me what is usually involved in an audit? Who would be showing me what to do? Do employees know I am there or is it just the manager that knows? What if I have a question while there? Who do I ask? Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

Audit shops are very varied. They can run the gamut from revealed shops where you take in an authorization letter, ask some questions, take some photos and you are done to anonymous shops where you are trying to get the price and UPC information for 30-100 items without getting spotted. They can be about 15 minutes on site to 2 days on site. I tend to avoid them because most of them I have seen or heard about are looking for waaaayyy too much information and time for waaaayyyy too little money.
I just did an audit (rarely do them), but really enjoyed it. GoldRush is a kiosk in the mall. I had to count people passing by for 15min., say how many took the flyer offered, then come back and stay for another 45min., (out of sight), take a pic, and, you get the pic.....

Live consciously....
I also did a GoldRush Audit - super easy - took 60+ days to get paid, but I knew that going in.
Wow! The audit used to pay $250 for 3 shops for A Closer Look, went to $150 for NSS and now is the whopping $35 per shop for BARE! Time consuming and you get a headache trying to get the prices for so many products, more than 100, left and right.
