Is this common?

I am so green brand new to all this, that I have not even gone on my first shop yet. I had applied with Bestmark last week and today they sent me an email that there was an electronic store job right down the street from me! So, I thought...wow, this would be a great first job. I immediately upon receiving the email went to their website. No kidding, within seconds I logged in. But the job was not there!

What am I missing or is this common?

I am assuming you went to the section "Search for Open Shops" and saw a bunch of shops, just not the one you were looking for?

It is unusual even in my 'grab it and run' competitive market for the electronics stores to be taken quickly. You may want to check your profile and make sure you have listed 25 or more miles as the distance you are willing to travel.

Other companies have less problems offloading shops than Bestmark, so if it was a different company I would suggest that the shops may have been gone by the time the scheduler got to sending an email. Bestmark not so much. In fact there is a $100 dinner shop on the board here right now with no takers. If I knew what the restaurant was I might consider it.

Yes, that is correct. They even have the same shop but at locations further away. Yes. my profile is correct on the miles I will travel too. Ok, I guess it just is what it is. The other thing that is odd though is that they also sent an email to me for the same shop at a another close-by location and it was not their either. However, there are the same ones further away from me. Thanks!

Obviously you have a competitor in your area who is quicker in grabbing the shops :-) We all get to deal with that. It runs in cycles as the average mystery shopper does not shop very long.

Wow, it happened again! I was in my email, so the second I got the Bestmark email, I logged into their site and the shop was not there! I did not waste anytime either, logged right in that second the email came to me.

Wow, I emailed the scheduler back and she assigned me another in my area! Ok, so I just got my first shop. I'm excited and nervous all at once. smiling smiley
