I have been living here and mystery shopping since July 2008. Prior to that I was living in South Georgia. I began mystery shopping in March 2007. I took the first shop I was offered just to get started. In fact I used to take all kinds of shops in almost any areas. After awhile I began to see that some of these shops weren't profitable and some of them I just didn't like doing so I began to be more discriminating.
Then I got my first merchandising position and knew I found my niche. I still do a lot of mystery shopping though. I especially like doing the digital audits and gas and grocery shops. I have found several companies that pay on a regular schedule and don't make you wait for two months to get paid so I shop for them on a regular basis. I seldom accept a shop for those companies that take more than a month to pay anymore.
I am trying to make a full time income with this line of work and have also looked into some money making opportunities on the internet. For the most part I have found those to mostly be scams or not worth my time. I have found one site that pays its members to basically chat. It is great to meet so many who are doing mystery shopping. The nature of this business isolates you and sometimes you can feel like you are the only one out there.
