@JASFLALMT, I get a ton of exercise while MS'ing and auditing. Many days, I reach 10,000 steps on my FitBit by 12 PM. (I am not counting planned exercise.) Running around the property of gas stations and taking photos is a biggie steps builder. Grocery stores add numbers walking from department to department. I also park my car far away from the entrance of a store/building so I get extra steps that way. I also choose to climb stairs instead of taking the elevator or escalator.
I am not into the mall thing but if you have a bunch of retail shops in the same mall or shopping plaza, just walk at a good speed and get those steps in. I sometimes will have a gas station, bank and a grocery shop in the same plaza so instead of getting back into my car and driving over to the other end, I just walk. Weather does not bother me much. Those are ponytail or bun days.
