New shopper, branching off of gigspot

New shopper in CA. I live in a van with my girlfriend, and after many moons without being gainfully employed, I did my first phone shop on gigspot. Any suggestions on other companies to do phone shops for? Any good companies or shops for around Bakersfield CA? We do travel. I'm 35. I used to put in floors. Got divorced. Said forget it I'm hitting the road AGAIN ????. thanks in advance. I'm glad I found this website. Keep me from digging around in garbage cans...lol, I'd say I have a problem, but they're plural.

Welcome to the forum. first, to get a head start, please go to the New shoppers area of the forums and red the topics "pinned" to the top of the list there. That will save you time and headaches galore!

Next, at the foot of the page there is a list of more than 100 legitimate MS companies. It is somewhat outdated due to recent mergers and business failures, but at least they are legitimate MS companies (MSCs). Also, you can search the forum for posts about specific MSCs to see what other shoppers have to say about them, Just remember that one shopper's poison is another's very favorite!

Most of all, ENJOY!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Are you looking to make money or eat or both? Lots of free food. Cash is more difficult.
I guess money, I'll take the food as a cherry on top. Like there's one in my area for hungry hunter, 75 reimb, and 20 bucks compensation. I'd consider that all around and up my alley, nahimsayinnnnn. Also thanks Wales for the heads up.

Get on intellishop for lots of consistent stuff.
Get on Ipsos for quick payments.
Get on Coyle / HS Brands for some longer reports and more interesting higher end stuff.
Get on Field Agent to find simple tasks for easy $5 - $10 direct deposited quickly.
Get on Mobee for quick access to gift cards.

To get cash and not spend your own sign up with tons of the companies on this site and find extras. You need to do audits. Lots of stuff where you get cash and don’t have to buy anything.

Oh and Bare International has a nice mix of things to do.

Sorry. Mostly basic or obvious companies. But it’s hard to know what someone will like.
One man's basic is another's wth. Comprehensive, concise, and convenient. You're getting mvp of the post.
I’d also suggest that you stay away from shops where you have to spend ANY money for your first month or two. And search the company name here to see if they are notorious for slow pay - some companies make you chase them down repeatedly to get your money. You don’t want that.

Types of shops with no money involved:

1. Apartment shops (need an ID to tour)
2. Storage unit shops
3. Mattress shops, furniture shops
4. Automotive shops with test drive (need a valid DL)
5. Test-taking shops (ID needed)
6. Cellphone store shops

IPSOS pays every Tuesday. PrestoShopper (phone app) pays every Monday and Friday. Field Agent (phone app) pays twice a week.

Build up a reserve of $1000 before you start doing restaurants, gas stations, so you don’t get caught low on cash flow.
You can make a killing as a traveling MS. I have a bunch of kids now but even still, I'll travel here and there. So does my husband. We take turns. We are actually both planning a huge MS route come July. Going to be traveling through 8 different states and take our 3 order kids with us to make it a "vacation" too.

But it does suck about the waiting period on getting paid when you first start as a MS. There are so many apps that pay quickly tho. Here is to name a few...
Presto, Easy Shift, Survey Merchandiser, Proxy Pics, iVuiet, Field Agent, Mobee, be my eye, and observa.

Also MS Company iPsos is my favorite because they pay quickly. They have shops on the presto map and they have shops on 2 other platforms too, sassie shop, and shop metrics. Ipsos do a lot of gas station audits and I do those a lot to reimburse some in gas, but I don't think they are worth it until the shop pay is $25 or more.

When someone has the means to do so, I strongly encourage full time traveling mystery shopping. You'd make a lot of money, just be picky with what you will do or not. No low paying jobs.
