Weekend Work?

This is a repeat post of one I had done not long ago that seems to have disappeared...

I currently work Mon-Wed and am looking to fill in hours on the extra days, possibly including weekends as well.
I'm aware that some retailers prefer merchandisers to do their work during the week so as not to interfere with business on weekends, but I'm looking for hours where I can get them.

There are a ton of merchandising sites out there. Google merchandising to get a start. Look on this forum on the bottom to find merchandising. Then if nothing else go through the posts and you will find company after company named. Start a list just like mystery shopping..... most of us have worked years to build a list. Pretty easy if you keep adding to it.
@ CANADAMOMMY ~ You mean that you aren't going to post your list here for all of us to see? ;-)

Joe, your original thread didn't disappear, you just forgot where you put it! It's where it always was in the Mystery Shopping Discussion forum. It's just that since no one had posted on it for a few days, it got bumped down to the 2nd page. smiling smiley

I don't know of a lot of merchandising jobs that are specifically weekends however this time of year there are a lot of companies that are requiring extra weekend work because of the holidays.
Not all ads will state that they are weekend work.

Have you considered demo work? It is not for me personally but there always seem to be demo weekend jobs available. Most of those positions are Thurs. -Sun with a possibility of specifying that you are only available Sat/Sun. Do you have any pet specialty stores near you? There have been several pet dedicated companies lately looking for weekend demo reps in my area so check into that too.

The two best places to start IMHO is to look at NARMS.com (they recently changed the url but this should still lead you in the right direction) and search on Indeed.com for merchandising and/or demonstrating jobs in your area. If you Google merchandising you may end up with a list but since many of the smaller companies are regional you might waste a lot of time on companies that will never have work for you.

I looked everywhere.

I have checked all those sites, and unfort demo is not my strong suit...I'm surprised I can even work merchandising since I'm kind of introverted. I was looking for work to fill in hours, but surprisingly not many regular jobs pay as good as I've been doing doing this. Plus the flexibility is rare to find with other jobs too.

I looked and a big fat zero for my area too for assignments...
Have you tried Chuck Latham Associates, Franklin Retail Solutions, or Pro-Motion Technology Group. They are all hiring in PA. Maybe not close enough to you though. Just noticed them when I was on NARMS.

All you had to do was click on your name and then you could call up a list of all the posts you have made. I've used this more than once when I couldn't quite remember what thread I added responses to.
I have worked for several merchandising companies over the past several years and none of them have weekend work. The clients apparently don't want people stocking shelves or doing resets on their busiest shopping days. I have seen Coke/Pepsi merchandisers in the stores on Saturdays, though.
CPM actually schedules for weekend work. I have a endcap set next weekend. I hate being in the stores weekends, and the store hates it too.! Fortunately it is a 24 hour store, so I will be getting up bright and early to do this one.
Keep looking. The merchandising company I work for usually starts their assignments on Mondays and finish them on Saturday or Sunday. I will not reveal their name since it is against the rules, but I do know of this one. Maybe their are more.
