Does anyone know a person that I can contact for MarketForce Theater/CFA that can talk to me about a concern I have? A manager or something would be excellent, or someone higher up in the company that can work with me. The "Help Desk" has not returned my calls in over a week now.
I recently completed a build and I was completely misled on the time it would take to complete. Some of the materials were missing, and I called so many times letting them know that it was a very difficult job. I informed them that the standee was damaged and missing parts, and that it was taking far longer than I was quoted for time - four times, in fact, more than I agreed to. I understand that these things take more time than projected, especially if you're not familiar with them, but for two people who are more than capable, it was a nightmare.
Whenever I did get in contact with someone, they were either dismissive about the situation or just plain rude, assuming I was trying to back out of the project.
In truth, I just want them to understand that my time is valuable, and that when I am immensely misled on the time it takes to do something, that hurts me financially, because I have to push back other jobs that I must do for the day. I took a hard blow completing this assignment, and I was spoken to as though I was entirely dispensable, and I just want to be heard. And yes, I do take it very seriously and consider it a theft of my time and services if I'm not reimbursed - I NEVER would have agreed to this contract if they had not provided me with a totally inaccurate assessment of the project up front. If they had told me it would take half the time it did to install this, I would have absolutely asked for more money or not signed off on the job at all.
But even if they can't pay me for my time, it would be nice if someone could at the very least understand? I'm running myself like a business because this is how I earn my living. I have to make the bills, and I have appointments and duties in life just like anyone else. I feel like my story should be heard by management, so that this does not continue to happen. And trust you me, this last month has put such a sour taste in my mouth, I will have to start turning down assignments with them until something is done.
And if nothing is done, that's fine. I'll share my story with other contractors and move on to better companies.
