CAST

Has/does anyone out there had problems signing into CAST? I have been able to sign in one time today. I have requested several pass words and that doesn't help. It has taken me a month to finally get everything going with them ie, they needed a second photo and proof of insurance just in the last few days. Well, when I looked back, I had submitted it several days ago. For me, it has been just one thing and then another.
Another thing, when one goes to do their work, it looks like they will be using their iphone and minutes. I have been given work but now cannot log in. Any suggestions. They never return my calls.

Do you have a phone number for them? Although I have found the companies that make even signing up a full time occupation, are the ones that I never should have bothered with. Example: One MSC required:
Passport/ SS card
Driver license Front and back
Insurance Card
7 pages of company specific rules and regs, all initialed
The usual tax papers. 3 pages
All had to be notarized and FAXED back, not scanned and emailed. I no longer have a landline, so this cost $1.25 per page.
I did one job, one time and quit as the application process was way easer than the actual reporting. Print and report 21 pages of crap for what was supposed to be a 2 hour job??? Log every non POG dvd when it hadn't been done in 5 months. I blew an entire day on a 2 hour job. I did get paid for 5 hours, but that was all they could do, and that was only because when I was in the store, I called and told them that it was a no way, no how, and they approved the extra hours. I truly believe SunnyDays2 has the right idea. I'll borrow you a pair of running shoes if you need them.
Here's what the people on Glassdoor have to say about them

The app will not run properly on my tablet but runs correctly on my iPhone. I too have some trouble with their website portal. I cannot schedule assignments on the day and hour I desire. I thought if you were assigned a territory you were given all stores within. I guess not because I see avaialable stores but clicking on them makes them go away with a pop up stating that store is reserved.
In all fairness the company is in transition from an IC model to a W2 model. It will take a couple months to iron out all the wrinkles. I have been through major restructures with a major retailer and no restructure goes smoothly, no matter how well planned. Give it time... it will smooth out. Cast Retail is growing quickly which is why they are restructuring. That has to be a positive.... right?
Currently you are assigned stores, not territories. You are then responsible for any projects that are assigned to that store.
A tech called me and gave me a password that worked. When I got into the portal I had three jobs assigned. Two of them are 30 miles one way. THe other one is 25 miles one way. The jobs are for 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. each @ $11.50. Nope cannot do that. There are no instructions nor tutorial as to what is expected. They keep pumping for info. from me but, nothing from them. Today, they are asking for a photo. Transitions need to be piloted. I need the work but am putting this on hold.
5842meg - Have you tried calling your territory manager to discus your expectations and parameters? Don't listen to cindy55, she has an axe to grind and uses the forum to vent. You do know you get mileage and drive time between stores, correct?
oh... and the instructions and tutorial are available to view once you schedule the job. Since you are assigned stores and can't pick and choose the projects, there is no need to see the instructions in the scheduling phase. Don't get worked up... communication at SPAR, Driveline, Advantage, SRS etc is no better if you don't take the initiative to communicate with them. Most of the people on this forum are mystery shoppers who dabble in merchandising so take it for what it is worth. I am a merchandiser who dabbles with mystery shopping, mainly food shops at Market Force. The two models are totally different. You can tell who the mystery shoppers are, they seek bonuses, which merchandising companies rarely offer. Especially W2 companies. Just my opinions.
You must have cindy55 mixed up with someone else. She most certainly doesn't use this forum to vent and I have never known her to give anything but honest opinions and reviews. Not the behavior of someone with an ax to grind.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Guys,

Can you please help me understand this to me:
Let say I schedule one job for 1 hr and it is 28 miles from my house and what I know is that we don't get mileage if it is within 30 miles.

Mileage to and from = 60 miles = 2 gallon = $4.0 out of my pocket
Driving time = 1.5 hrs = $0 (within 30 miles)
Time to complete job = 30 minutes ( lets say i finished project in 30 minutes)

What will I get paid after spending $4 in gas, 1.5 hrs of driving and 30 minutes job?

$5.75? if my rate is $11.5/hr? meaning $1.75 for 2 hours job?

If that's the case, it is really not worth of time and effort. I always liked Castforce as I always did multiple shops in the same route. I really don't see any benefit here and it seems like Cast came up with the plan to pay less for each assignment.

shahid09 - I would suggest having a conversation with your Territory Manager at CAST. There contact information is on your home page. There is a lot of mis-information circling due to people getting kernals of information then making assumptions. I came from Castforce also and I have multiple stores on a route so it is quite similar. I am also going to make more money (drive time and mileage) and do a better job in-store as I don't have to rush to leave data entry time in the equation. I would suggest you get the facts from the horses mouth (Cast Territory Manager) so you can make an educated decision.
That happened to me-I emailed the territory manager and he removed the out of the way stores. This is in reply to a comment up a ways...

Wild Bill, I have communicated with them. I am familiar with what they are trying to do. I received another email today with a change they wanted. Another company called me today that sounds like something I will take. Thanks for your input.

With the assignments only being for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesdays, I am not able to generate enough income like I was able to do with Castforce. I cannot afford to wait until things get worked out. I can only schedule so much other company assignments on the other two days but it still is not enough to maintain my income level.
I'm having the same issues. I've called and emailed my Territory Manager and he does not call back.
SOMEONE is doing the jobs that I signed up for! I wonder who it is? I've gotten alot of mystery shopping jobs in the meantime so by the time their done signing me up I may not be ABLE to work for them.
I signed up and am going to try it but was dismayed that there is no training what so ever, you are sent in blind to the store and given very vague instructions, I am going to try it but am not very hopeful, if any of you work for them can you please give me a idea of what it is like and what is usually needed?
You don't need to learn anything at all if you are an experienced merchandiser. Everything is very, very basic.
You read and do what the instructions say. If you can read a pog and can go in a store and see if the ketchup is fully stocked, needs a tag or on hand errors cleared you're good to go.
What seems complicated at first will become quite easy after you do it a few times. The instructions will make more sense when you are there. Just give yourself plenty of time.
Castforce: ... and when they became CAST ..OMG... tongue sticking out smiley ...I still recommend running FAR away from this company.

Looking at Glassdoor was a real "eye opener" and my instincts were right many moons ago.

The jobs (many times) had work that took more than the allotted time. And QC would send you back if they did not like something you did or wanted additional pictures with no additional time paid.

I knew it was getting bad when they had jobs overdue by many days, that nobody would pick up on the boards. Then they made merchandisers "employees" and I knew it was time to get out.
