Instore group hiring

The instore group is doing a massive hiring. This is for Walmart stores. It looks like most states have openings. I did notice the locations in the email I received were mostly rural towns and cities. The email was too large to post, unfortunately. I don't know anything about the company, just that they are hiring. Must be an experienced merchandiser and the usual qualifications. Here's a link.

I worked with them for about a year. They hire you as an IC (they call you a vendor) but treat you like an employee. You are micromanaged and they with hold pay (all of what they owe you, not just the job in question) if you have any outstanding QC issues for any job. The work is infrequent, but the Walmart contract may change that. I just got tired of the micromanaging and the inflexible scheduling. (All in the name of client requests, such as this job must be performed Mon-Thurs between 8 -11am or 1-5 pm) Most jobs are flat rate, but some are hourly, so 20 minutes is 20 minutes pay. On a positive note, they pay every other week via direct deposit. All in all not a horrible company, just didn't work out for me.
I think I did one job for them a few years ago. A fake eyelash reset in Ulta. Did it while I was waiting for my hair color to set! Manager loved it as it advertised their salon services. Submitted in an obscure website and never knew if it was accepted of not. Sent a couple emails about payment when I hadn't been paid in over 45 days. When I got paid I got paid twice. Haven't work for them since.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just forget to load the film.
In store group did a mass hire for Home depot lumber resets a month ago. At first they said it was 14 an hour for 8 hrs, but it was changed to $100 flat rate. The resets are next week and I had signed up for a decent number of the resets since they take place 2nd shift (I work 1st). Then they took them all off my schedule and put out an email that they were canceled till further notice. After spending about a month hiring people for this project, they cancel it. I hope they didn't lose the contract or I be a pissed muder faker.

I have worked for the Instore Group since Jan 2015. Since that time I have had 4 DM's. They were doing pretty good, but something happened now they cant get it together. I put in notice to terminate my spot, because the DM has to many states to keep up and they have been unorganized with the last project I did. They don't pay well for the projects they have and when you get to the place no one ever knows why you are there. I am done with them.
I did one restickering project in a Walmart (magazine rack) that was flat rate and was only supposed to take a few hours, but it ended up being 4. They wouldn't pay extra though I worked more hours than they said it was going to take. I am still signed up with them, but lately I have been declining assignments in my dashboard because they are flat rate for a 30 minute visit and it isn't worth my time to drive where they want me to go to do it, and I also don't know if it's really only going to take 30 minutes.
Another merchandising company fails. I am hesitant to accept offers from so many of them anymore. Lots of 1 hour offers, but they are too distant to take the chance of an ugly surprise when I get there. 1 hour pay for 2-3 hours work just doesn't make it for me, plus no mileage or drive time.
I think sometimes when they say it's a 1 hour visit, they are only thinking of the time involved in actually completing the project and not thinking about the time it takes to meet with a manager to get approval or even additional materials needed to complete the project, and then again finding the manager when it's done to get paperwork signed, etc. Sometimes at a WalMart it could take a 30 minutes upon arrival to find a manager and maybe even longer at the end to get the signature!!!!
Walmart has in store managers? I never get to see one. The stores don't look like there is a manager in house. I only do things that I do not have to have contact with store personal. Slap a sticker on, take a picture, pretty much covers what I am willing to try to do anymore in Walmart. Too many failures with real merchandising work.
I haven't done a WalMart job since last Halloween when I had to do candy packouts. I am an employee for Advantage and unfortunately, they wouldn't let me out of the visit. And the department manager actually wanted me to packout Hershey because they did not have any more Mars in the backroom. She about had a coniption because I refused to do it. Advantage represents Mars and Hershey is our competitor. I got my signature and got out of there.
That is so wrong. I used to service small leather goods for the manufacturer. The store didn't have any back stock, so the dept manager wanted me to set up a competitors huge purse display. Refused and documented. The XXXXX tried to turn me in for not doing my job! Fortunately I had already contacted my boss. This was at a more upscale retailer. Not the last time either, just the most egregious.
I was warned not to write on my reports that I would rather open a vein sooner than do any more merchandising work in Walmart. But, I haven't had any work in Walmart since with that MSC.
A couple weeks ago I signed up for a couple Nestle water resets for SRS. (oh yea, this is at walmart). I went to my first store per the information on NI(Natural Insight) and waited for the team lead to show up. 15 minutes passed and I called the team lead that I am at the store. He was at a different walmart and the team was doing the reset at over there. ok(saitama expression).

Emailed the supervisor of the project and asked what's with the wrong info on NI? They said sorry and that I will be given 2hr pay. I had a couple walmart resets an hour away so I just canceled them.

Good information. SRS is doing major hiring around here. I think I will take a pass.
I know some people who love those water resets. Not for me, but they can't seem to get enough of them.

Former mystery shopper, current merchandiser.
My latest DM is terrific. There have been some glitches ("hey, boss, there's nothing in this store that looks like the POG I was assigned!" -- I was given the WRONG POG! Did what I could, got paid anyway). They do pay fast. I've only been with them a short time, but have had FOUR different DMs in that short time. Some glitches, yes -- growing pains, I think. The reporting is incredibly simple, compared to others. Narrative required only if something unusual happens; mostly y/n.

Like others, I hate dealing with WalMart. Waiting for a manager, check. Searching for the packages they were supposed to receive, check (OMG, 45 minutes in the back room with the manager, looking for a 12x18" bright green box!) (and you don't get paid for that, either, if you can't find the box at all, you don't get paid). I have to say, though, that all the WalMart employees I've had to deal with are gracious, helpful, polite, professional -- they just are clueless. Driving an hour to get there, spending 1.5 hours in the store, failing to complete the project because you can't find the materials shipped to the store, not getting paid because you didn't complete the job, check, check, and check.
