I need help with Cast Retail

Last night I received an invite to join Cast Retail. I know from postings on here they are a legit company, I am hitting one snag in closing the deal.

I don't hide the fact that I am a Canadian Citizen, and I live in Canada.

Thing is on their application form they only want US States, and a Zip Code as to where I live. Clearly a problem.

Does anyone know if they are expanding into Canada? Do I need to give someone a jingle to clear this mess up? Or was this a random e-mail sent out at 11:00 PM at night because I live within 2 hours of the US Boarder.sad smiley

Give them a call. They are really aggressively pursuing experienced merchandisers. Do you do work in the USA at all? There are some folks that cross over frequently to work. I don't know what kind of a hassle that involves.

I have 13 years experience, so I think I can check the experienced box.winking smiley

I don't mind crossing the boarder, but it's one of those deals where the client (or employer) would need to do a load of papework, and it'd cost a mint.

Funny story, for years a local anchor person would commute from the US to Canada 5 days a week to host the evening news, so I know it is possible.

Any branch you recommend I contact or just pick one and go?

What happens if you do 99999 in the zip code? I am supposed to be contacted within 72 hrs by Cast, I will ask about Canadian work. You could just call the Florida corporate headquarters number and see what happens. It seems strange they would send you an invite and not know you are in Canada.

I'm American and I lived in Ontario when I was married to a Canadian. DO NOT tell US customs if you head into Michigan or NY that you're doing any work. Thats a first class ticket to further inspection and more. We once brought in some ebay stuff to ship and we got the 3rd degree. All our boxes were opened and searched. We were also charged a "commerical" transaction fee. They gave me so much crap and I'm American!!

I know how sensitive the US boarder guards are to anyone even hinting at entering the US for work without the proper paperwork. Last time they found a badge from Premium and the paperwork in my trunk as I was crossing into the US to do some shopping. Nothing extra in the sense of stress, but I had to wait an extra 45 minutes as they checked up on things and asked me some questions about my relationship to them.
