Hi. Has anyone done any work for Coast to Coast Merchandising & Installations? Saw an ad on Indeed and wonder if they are a reliable company.

I used to years ago. Never had a problem. Lately I keep getting emails for jobs,but when i go in they have already been taken.

Thanks. I started their application but they want to know if you can climb a ladder, lift 40 pounds, etc. I can't do a lot of physical work. I was hoping they would have card replenishment assignments. Oh well!!

When I did work for them, never had to climb a ladder, and the items were light weight. I just put items on racks. The jobs they have been advertising for in my area are all lightweight that goes on racks, shelves.They are items made out of paper.

I decided to apply anyway, and they do have jobs putting paper items on racks, but nothing real close to me. Thanks again!

The heaviest thing I picked up was a huge sign at a car dealership when I was changing POP (marketing material). That was pretty heavy. But, the rest of the stuff I've been doing is like stocking books, testing printers and making sure they work, putting paper and ink in printers, etc. I have put displays together but, they are not heavy. If you read the instructions on the job and feel you can't do it, just don't apply for the job and you should be good to go.

@gladysfarfel, You have the option either to choose or decline any job, because they hire Independent Contractors. So if you don't want to choose a job that looks like it might involve heavy lifting or anything else you may be concerned about, you don't ever have to select it. You are never penalized for not taking any sort of job with them. I have done work for them off and on for about 3 years now, and enjoy it. Hope you find something with them that you like!

Let me encourage you to keep applying even if you don't get hired to do a particular job that you see. I applied off and on for a couple of years before they finally had an opening in my area. So don't give up!!!

Their biggest client is a national brand of gas stations/convenient stores. I have been working with them for over five years and have nothing but good things to say about CCMI. They replace promotional signage and related items every quarter. It took me several years before they had an opening in my area and I’m now at 62 stores on my route. Once you get stores assigned to you and you can do them, they are yours until you say stop! As additional stores open up in adjacent areas to your usual route, they will offer them to you. Last year a new group of 30 stores were offered to me by the CCMI owner since the “new” person decided they did not want to do the work. The new stores are an important part of my route now and I’m glad for them. CCMI pays by check 30 days after the projects end and the checks have never been late! A good company to work with and well worth the wait!

Thanks, I am just getting back into it after retiring and moving.

It could-- if you are short and attempting to reach into a holder on top of, say, a tall gas pump in order to remove and replace signage there.

There are so many types of merchandising projects! I am replacing signage for something else today. If tall hubby were not here, I would have needed a step-ladder to reach the top of an end cap and press something into place (or a pair of those 9-inch stiletto heels, haha). For this project, I removed an ~ 8 pound backer and replaced it with lightweight cardboard. My back hurt most from making the pegs fit into the pre-cut cardboard slots. Go figure.

You can always ask project managers for additional or specific information, if you need it to make a decision about each project. This way you learn more about locations, MSC's, and you as a merchandiser.

Yes;very small company. The owner is a nice, honest guy. Just be prepared to not have the most updated technology (no app; upload pictures to a website.). Payment takes about a month by check sent regular mail--no direct deposit available. However, the owner will notify everyone by e-mail when the checks get cut and sent.

I applied for several of their jobs through an email request, but unfortunately was never assigned any of them. After about four attempts I gave up and never applied for anymore. It looks as if they have a lot of work in my area, but may already have a dedicated rep assigned to do most of the work. From what I can remember the job description is given when you apply for the assignment. But that's been about two or more years ago. Good luck to you on your job search. I have been there and done that. And still sign up for companies when I see opportunities that are a good fit.

Junebaby, I was the same way when I first started. I finally emailed the scheduler, introduced myself, and asked for some of the jobs I applied to. I got everything I applied for after that. I reply to the email the scheduler emailed me that I wanted the job(s). The scheduler stated to me that a lot of times when you apply through the website it doesn't make it to them. So, I would advise you to reach out to your scheduler (the person that emails you the jobs). Don't give up.
