Video MS Category?

This forum is so active and sometimes it touches on video mystery shopping but I'd like much more. I know there are several of us with video experience out there. I find there is very little activity on the Video Shopping Network and it's frustrating. I'm on this forum daily and have learned a lot from others. Let's expand our skills and knowledge of video shopping, provide tips and share "on the road" stories. I'd like to learn more about disguises (beyond my hats and wigs) and also have some fun. Thanks so much for your work on this Forum.

There was a video shopping post from GreyHawk two months ago that was basically a commercial for his equipment. I just did some recent posts on that thread and I tried to get into some useful video topics. No responses yet.

For those of us past the questions on equipment purchase, I'd like to get into a real discussion among people doing it. Are either of you doing video? What are your concerns? I find that this market is very different than the traditional MSing.

Big question is what does it take to have a separate Video Shopping Discussion or Forum within this larger one?
"I find there is very little activity on the Video Shopping Network and it's frustrating." I agree there isn't much forum activity over there. It seems limited to job or route postings and some posts about hotels with good wifi or questions about equipment glitches. It's not a bad site, just not overly social. The argument video shopping has it's own forum and message boards could have been applied to merchandising yet when the suggestion was made to add a sub-forum here it was done.

I don't video shop but it seems lots of us do. Having a section on video shopping would be beneficial to the video shoppers and also to those of us who don't video shop now but may be interested. I believe it would enhance the forum and benefit a large number of us. I don't think it matters whether there is another forum that addresses video shopping. The question is whether it would benefit this forum and its members to add that feature here. I'm all for it.

If anything a sub-forum like we have for merchandising would highlight it for shoppers who come here looking for information on video specifically and would help corral the discussions so those not interested wouldn't even need to visit that area. I regularly just hit "mark forum read" for the merchandising area. Same thing for the job board, but that's a whole other discussion, lol!

I agree. I am not interested in video shopping, doesn't fit my preference, or life. Purportedly, VSN has minimal activity; quite the contrary here, as this forum has a large audience of shoppers, traditional and video. Why not have a Video Discussion forum? Have to say, I have no clue if video is a waxing or waning enterprise.
If anyone thought it might just be a novelty whose time would run out, the increase in clients and trained video shoppers is proving that to be wrong.
