Cluttered Jobs Board
I got frustrated with it enough that I PMed the scheduler to suggest that they list location(s) in their title and that they actually give information about the SHOP in their post rather than just a blurb about their company and a link to go sign up and check their job board.
It would be awesome if the board had some sort of tagging system or maybe just sub-folders for regions. I agree that it is so cluttered with the same job posted for each individual location that it doesn't seem useful to me anymore.
Even with a tagging system or sub-folders, the way I read the boards is to click on "Latest" so I would have to unfollow the entire board in order for it not to be annoying. If it's possible to unfollow that board, actually, I would love to do that anyway. It's very rare that I see anything on the Jobs board that I don't already know about.

It would be nice to exclude job postings from the "Latest" list of posts.

Thanks for being proactive about this! I just tried to toggle the offender, hoping it would magically make all the pages of posts they create just disappear. But, alas, toggling does not work that way.
I just stopped checking the job board, rather than page through all of the worthless listings. You could tell they were just running down the list, because the posts were alphabetical by state.
I think having sub-folders for regions would be keen. Either that, or have job posters have a convention of listing zip codes, areas, counties or some such indicator that would make it easier to search.

How irritating! It would be nice if the moderator deleted the multitude of posts and notified the poster by PM that there might be a better way to post. The posts are really a very bad advertisement for the company.

@Flash -- the jobs are now excluded from the "latest" tab. Hopefully you'll find it useful again.

Would it be possible to sort by location?
As a scheduler I had asked for feedback on this. I was told that people want the locations in the title, however, there are times when I personally schedule shops in as many as 85 locations across several states making putting the locations in the subject line a bit difficult.
If I just list the states that wouldn't help me either because shoppers said that if the location is vague, they won't bother to look at all. So, I can't win here. I can't post all locations in the headlines and the shoppers don't want each location listed.
It's lose lose for me.

"$25 Cell phone shops in AL, AZ, FL, GA & MS" sure works for me. If my state is not in the list there is zero need for me to open. If I don't do cell phone shops there is zero need for me to open. But I see my state and an amount for which I am willing to consider a cell phone shop, so it makes sense for me to take the 5-10 seconds to open and see if there is something in my area before heading to a company job board if I need more detail.
But that is certainly why a regional board wouldn't make much sense. Even if it was organized by state (which means 5 posts for the scheduler) there may or may not be shops in my area.

Thanks for weighing in, @SallyEmpireScheduling. As Flash said, if my state or the neighboring state is listed in the title, I'll take a peek. Then, having a more detailed list of locations, organized by state, in the body of the post makes it easy for me to scroll down and see if there's something I want to pick up. If everything is 300 miles away then so be it, it only took me a second to find that out.

And there is nothing more annoying than to open a post on a job board only to find there is no information about the SHOP at all, only solicitation to register or visit a website. So my $25 Cell phone shop may be anything from a casual inquiry to a sign a contract and return the phone within the 10 day period, but if there is no clue as to what the expectations are it is pretty useless. "Shop requires Giddyup subscribers between the ages of 50 and 99" at least lets me know whether it is worth pursuing further on a website.

How about if the job listings started with the state - then the cities - then the job blurb - then the MSC. Like this, for example:

Sadly I think some schedulers are so geographically challenged that they don't know where states are. I am in Florida and just received emails for shops in Oregon! Just a little hop, skip and jump away to do for them this afternoon, right?
Suggestions for dealing with schedulers with challenges, and streamlining the job board section of the forum? Does it need its own moderator, or can current moderators keep things clear? There is much room for improvement.
@Mert – I think putting one or two people "in charge" of moderating the job board is a good idea. Any volunteers?
Jacob, are there posting guidelines for the job board, and will they be stated up front for reference?
@Mert -- right now there are very few rules for the job board. However, that is something that could be changed. And of course, stated up front.
If we can have the state first, or if multiple states then in alphabetical order, I'm available for the first six months as a job board moderator.

I think this would really help--having guidelines in a sticky at the top of the board and having a couple of moderators to contact schedulers to politely let them know if their post doesn't meet the guidelines, give them the opportunity to edit (24 hours? 48 hours?), and then delete if necessary. I'd be down to help with that.
