Shoppers Breaking MSC Guidelines in Posts

Wouldn't it be better, if people just reported posters who break guidelines directly to the moderators? Every time a newbie posts the name of a MSC and their client, we get a bunch of posts filling up the thread. The moderators are efficient at their job, let them do what they are good at - moderating!

If I see it. I am going to let them know. They can edit it and save work for the moderators.
Good in theory. But unless you catch the person while they are still on the forum, they are unlikely to see your comments until the next time they happen to login. In the meantime, the moderators would have already moderated the comments as they would have seen the comments themselves and others would have reported the guideline violation. So, the redundant 'guideline violation' posts just litter up the thread.
A lot of folks learn the role by seeing it pointed out in the thread.

True.

If I see it's already been pointed out I don't point it out again. No reason for it to be pointed out more than once in a thread.

I've accidentally made a couple of boo-boos along my way here, and have very much appreciated other forum members kindly and gently pointing this out to me. It helps reinforce to take the time to re-read my post before submitting.
Me too.
I am sure my first question was who shops ......

Many of us started with that one.
Yep I did that a couple of times a couple of months apart because the second time I dd it I didn't remember that it wasn't allowed. I know better now.

Apparently not so much. Multiple spam posts have been reported several days ago that are still up. A new forum member violated ICA and forum guidelines, that was reported and is still up.
Another pet peeve- when new participates posts messages in text. I'm sorry but in order for us to help you, please post in plain English.
This forum is the coolest! It is also moderated willy-nilly and hap-hazardly. Especially noteworthy is the total annihilation of the thread about doing this work full-time, which I was saving to read when I had more than a moment. That sucks!

I wonder why? That makes no sense. But what can you do?

Hey, can someone tell me what poster was causing so much stress that the thread got deleted? You can pm me if you want.
I do not actually remember, but lots of serious MSers were being accused of lying and it got pretty bad. BUT, I still think that the thread could have been salvaged by some judicious pruning instead of just shut down entirely.

You might want to start a new thread on the subject. Past such threads have been quite good and interesting. We can hope that the (T-word omitted) is gone.

Unfortunately a certain person who is supposed to be experienced in the field of mystery shopping resorted to using the t-word. And things went down hill from there.
It’s not a matter of wording the thread correctly - it started off great.

Aw, I see. I think it's pretty low when people resort to troll, newbie, noob etc. It must have gotten pretty bad to delete an entire thread. I guess I will have to get my 'how to shop full-time' fix elsewhere. Next time I'm laid off I will sign up for all companies I can find and just do every assignment I can find for a quarter and report on that experience.
spicy,
Why wait for disaster to strike ? If you sign up with just 5 per day a few days per week, you will begin to see what the entry level shops are for many, many MSCs. Of course, for most, you will not start to see the better paid ones until you have proven yourself. But you will at least be able to do those entry ones pretty much at you leisure, rather than sometime when your need is greater.
