Closing threads

The "fantasy pay" thread which was created to be negative fulfilled it's promise. I still don't understand this post from the moderator,

Most of the unending insults, etc., tend to come from a handful of bitter, former members who have nothing better to do than troll. Why don't you just address the issues with them? There is never going to be a thread that doesn't get polluted by their vitriolic diatribes.

It was shut down just after I posted, having bitten my tongue for months and having not posted due to the inane politics of this forum.

Where have you been? I think SoBroke was the OP and cause of the bitterness, her name calling put many members on guard, but I realize you've been missing in action. No hard feelings toward SCM, just a different point of view as to why I was stuck in traffic and couldn't get to my third job, so I vent......but I sure saw a lot of Limo's.......haha The thread had been going on way too long with the OP hating our industry, read the beginning, you'll see.

I've been running my MS business and keeping my nose out of Forum business. Quite frankly, I went through third grade and puberty a while back, and feel no need to contribute to those who can't appreciate what I have to offer.

I as well am working on something else, was hired to speak to seniors on work, at a woman's group on being alone, a pep talk of sorts, as any age can be fulfilling... I am so grateful for many things, want to share....really good to see you again or hear you as the case may be.

I have many positive things to contribute. I simply haven't posted on *many* topics because I do not have time for bs and am, at times, to blunt for many people's britches.

@LisaSTL : pollution is the perfect way to describe it.

The mods have done nothing on this board for months now. I've stopped reporting stuff because it's a waste of time. Had they nipped it in the bud, that thread and others would not have gotten out of hand. I was almost thinking of starting a thread asking that the posting guidelines be updated because personal attacks are allowed now, you don't have to contribute something positive, and ICA violations now abound here, as well as spam. Did you read the recent article from the Mystery Shopping Magazine by Cheryl Darcel? I now know who shops Citgo, Jack in the Box, Bank of America, Chevron, Exxon, Shell - although didn't one of these move to another MSC?

I'm with nslinhar. I've already been through 3rd grade and have way more better things to be doing.

Active mods are important for this board. I try to be polite and respectful, but I find that I have a limited tolerance for being cut into. When I reach that point, I get a bit more “snippy” than I should.

I agree with Kimmie, this forum has become a place to take one's anger out and put people down, repost their post telling them what they said was wrong, done totally out of spite. Seems to be no more support, so looking for somewhere else to go, and I too stand with nslinhar who was a bright contributing new member.
The first thread about how to make fifty dollars an hour was informative and served a purpose, twenty more were not needed, unless one needs to brag. This industry is about a variety of shoppers working for their own personal reasons. The forum needs Moderator's that care and are not amused by the name calling and negativity.
I guess the old saying, "Everything comes to an end" is true, fun while it lasted.

Yup. I reached that point when shoptastic called us demon children or whatever her exact wording. I called her out on it and then she backpedaled and said she was kidding. That revealed more about her than she intended to.
