Intimadating shops

I just did Cartier, talk about intimadating. I didn't get a manicure and was worried all the way to glorious Beverly Hills, only to find the upscale Salesperson also did not have a manicure. She did get to wear one white glove (ala Michael Jackson), while showing me the teeney tiny diamond I was to evaluate. The shop took 12 minutes, the report 10 minutes, the pay 24.00, and another shop on the way home for 15.00 and a free lunch...total for under an hour, $55.00

$55 an hour doesn't sound too intimidating to mewinking smiley Good for you!

I love it when a plan comes together!

HaHa, happens rarely...when it works, it is excellent.

Yes it is excellent, I am always trying to plan days like that, but not necessarily with all shops. I mix in my other errands and appointments too and love having gotten a lot accomplished when I get home.
Good job, Irene. That's working at a rate of over $114,000 annually. All right!

WOW....not gonna happen today, making that hourly would put me in another category, and gives me something to dream about, like a house on the water, travel, security......

Now you're all ready for Tiffany's and Bvlgari; and why not? You've got no reason to be intimidated. Your cash or plastic is just as good as anybody else's. How do they know if you didn't just win the lottery or get a huge inheritance.
Your right, and all this is about is acting.,...I was only intimadated because of my lack of manicure...I do these jobs and the good part is they only take a few minutes, but my rings are nothing like theirs, at least my nails should be "up to par". I feel rich, that's what matters.

I did 2 intimidating shops today. Both at the same "towne center" (aka: hoity-toity mall). One was a clothing store. A plain t-shirt was $50. A plain long sleeve shirt waas $120.I'm a Target type of gal when it comes to clothes, so I really felt out of place!

The 2nd shop was a high-end shoe store. I tried on a pair of athletic shoes that felt like heaven. Then I found out the price...$225! A far cry from the $50 Nikes that I wear.
oo, I've got my first upscale shop coming up -- Ferragamo shoes -- guess I'd better get a mani/pedi! smiling smiley Hey, do you think those are tax write-offs? lol
If they're tax write-offs, perhaps you could throw in a whole new "business attire" LOL winking smiley
Great point, will think about that one, new clothes for the upscale shops....
I'm all for it.

I actually enjoy doing upscale shops because it is so obvious when the employee is a genuinely nice person and when they aren't. It makes my job that much easier when they aren't because I can keep it short and sweet, saying that they were of minimal help, whereas I go to great lengths to give a great feedback on an employee. They usually always pay well too.
My most intimadating shop is my favorite shop. It nvolves shopping a Golf Course. The reason it is intimadating is the amount of detakil that they want you to provide. Like name, what wearing, logo's, smile, eye contact, greeting and leaving remarks. The sections are check in, phone call for tee time, starter, course advison/marshall, beverage cart, course maintenance, grill for food, and exiting /leaving. It takes about 2hours to do the report, however on my last report i got a 10.
I once got a manicue at lunch because I had the Cartier/Tiffany thing to do after work. And, yes, I included the manicure in my expenses for the shop!! (For my taxes, not for reimbursement)

You have given me a whole new set of things to worry about..lol.
I wouldn't know a manicure if it bit me. I just tromp on it. I haven't done a Cartier or a Tiffany's as we don't have them here. I've done jewellry and I don't wear any. I just say it's for a gift. I think it makes it easier because you can play dumb and let them explain all about their product. Like was said earlier by anon girl, it makes it easier to find out who the snobs are and who the nice folk are.
However Bena, doing a Cartier wouldn't be a gift in my world.

you could always pawn it!
Guess my best hour was heading out for rural Indiana to do a post office in Salem, IN for $30 for shipping a package. Got a call the same day asking if I'd do the McD's there for $20. Got there early and looked up the DQ and it needed to be done too....go through drive thru and take a picture of the sundae for $23. And I took the required nibbles and then went to Tumbleweed for lunch for another $25 reimbursement and $10 fee. I did the post office, zoomed over to the DQ, went to MCD's and then went to have lunch at Tumbleweed. I was at Tumbleweed within 40 minutes of hitting the post office. I did linger over lunch so I guess it was more than an hour, but I was eating lunch and reading a book $83 plus $42 worth of food to the good. Took all but the required bites of food home to family later but headed to the other $20 MCD's and $30 post offices in other towns. It was a great route in the beautiful autmumn leaves and stumbled into an Italian festival that afternoon and just strolled around watching dancers, spaghetti eating contests and kids playing bocci ball. lol

I love doing an outing like that until I get home. Then I end up typing reports until the wee hours, wondering what on earth I was thinking about doing all those shops in one day smiling smiley
I find the bra fitting shops somewhat intimidating since I am a man.

try shopping for a jock strap as a single mum
I saw a job today for $50(!!) for a purse shop, you had to look for and buy a purse with an item inside it. I just don't seem to bring myself to purse shopping.

And no, there explicitly was no qualification to be female.
What does "an item inside it" mean. Were you supposed to try and steal a wallet or somethingsmiling smiley
