Hello drweathers. You can start by signing up with some companies and taking the training available on their websites. Some good companies to start with are Bare, Maritz, Corporate Research, and Market Force. There is a lot of free information available on line from Cathy Stucker. You can google her and sign up for her free email course. I found it to be very helpful. It will be a good use of your time to follow this forum and to read the sticky threads.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.

All good advice above. I'll tell you how I started.

First, I went to the FTC website (Federal Trade Commission) and found out there are plenty of legitimate companies to work for, but there are also scams to watch out for. The best single thing to point out is that you should not pay to mystery shop, with rare exceptions. You will discover those exceptions and if they work for you as you get into mystery shopping.

Second, I went to the MSPA (Mystery Shoppers Providers Association), which was referred by the FTC and found some legitimate companies to work for and did some shops.

Next, I found the forums, this being one of two sites I rely on. I have found the forums to be the best source of information for shoppers because they are for shoppers by shoppers.

Now, more than three years later, I have a good number of companies to draw from for shops and am largely comfortable with what I am doing. However, I still rely on the forums for information about shops, companies and general issues.

As for you, get focused and do some shops! smiling smiley
