Pediatrician Video Shop

I just got an email for a shop that requires video of the entire pediatrician wellness check up. Has anyone ever heard of this? Seems a little creepy that some client out there wants a video of a child having a physical exam

I did one for a dentist's office. I imagine the actual exam will be edited out by the MSC and the scoring will be done on customer service/compliance.

...and then there's a video of your child you are trusting a MSC with. No way.

I feel bad taking my cat the vet for a shop and having a thermometer stuck up his bum for $25.
Neither would I want to do such a shop.

Errrrrr, I think that the video is to be of the physician's staff, not the child. When doing a video shop of any sort with a second person with you, the instructions I have seen always state that you are to try to keep your "partner" (in this case, child) out of the picture to the greatest extent possible.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
That was certainly my assumption when I read this. If I had kids it would still bother me. It just seems it would be hard to keep them out of the shot considering the doctor's proximity in an exam situation. That's just me and I've yet to get any experience video shopping with a partner and it's not likely to ever happen since I also don't know anyone I would trust in that situation, LOL!

...Especially if your kids know you do video shops and are little hams. I can see that backfiring very easily!

Still sounds kind of creepy to me too.

As a mom I can only imagine how I would have reacted had I found out that someone had been videotaping my son's pediatrician while he was examining a child--even if that child was not mine and even if the child was not in the video. The idea that there would be a camera in the pediatrician's office without every parents' express permission is just beyond the pale IMHO. Of course, if the purpose was to expose inappropriate behavior, I would be grateful. Otherwise, I would be making some lawyer rich. ooooooooh
Yes, creepy indeed. I was a forensic interviewer of sexually abused children for nearly 10 years and as you can imagine I saw some horrifying things. The problem with a scenario like this is what happens if somebody gets a hold of it and edits it. And by somebody, I mean some creepy guy with a lot of editing experience and well, is a pedophile. Once in my professional position, I saw a video of a man filming children in the park. He would bring this film home and edit it by taking clips and inserting in different pornographic pieces to it. It gave me nightmares for a few nights and that was before I had my daughter. I can't imagine what a doctor visit would look like.
