MobiAudit App

Has anyone used this? I downloaded it for a shop I've applied for and the reviews are TERRIBLE for it.

Saw those reviews and decided the heck with it. Are the jobs requiring it even worthwhile?

@LisaSTL - I've applied for one shop, about a mile from my house and it pays $30 so I'd really like to do it.

I've got fingers crossed someone has something good to say about the app.
Could have sworn I saw something about a back up plan for when the app fails (since it does so often) like being able to provide a traditional report or something. Wish I could remember where. It might be somewhere here or over on Volition. Even if you aren't registered there you can read posts and do searches. It certainly might be worth your while for this onewinking smiley

I've talked with the MobiAudit people. It's not really a great option, at least at this time, for shops on your mobile phone. It often loses your data, and on a mobile phone it is unrecoverable. I guess it is also an app for an iPad and laptop, and it works better there.

You can contact the folks over at Shop Metrics (http://www.shopmetrics.com/Contact_Us.asp) by phone or email. They are very helpful at least. But at this time I wouldn't recommend the app.
yeah they got high ratings in the tech forums for ideas but the ratings for the app are atrocious...

we have apps that have good gps locators
we have apps that take good pics
we have apps that verify the store location
we have apps for surveys

if you could just combine all four it would be awesome... which of course they are trying to do... perhaps it would be better to have 4 apps than one... it would be a pain... but not much time switching in between or verifying each seperatly...

For those who have not used the app it works like this:

1 - All your shops assigned are presented as an InBox. You chose the one you are about to do and set the time. Geo location turns on and you battery will start to run down fast,

2. Input the data. There does not seem to be any error checking on the app side so you can actually select yes and no to questions. You can also completely skip questions.

3. Finish inputting the data.

4. Hit SYNC. The data is submitted and some errors checking is done. However, it did not detect my yes and no answer to one question.

5. If all is good you will see a green submit button. Hit that and you are done, (sort of)

The problems:

1. The last shops I did required photos but never presented a way to upload the photos. I had to email them.

2. If you sync but for what ever reason do not get the submit button your shop will most likely have lost data. At this point I would write down the shop info and move to the next shop. Using the app to fix a report with errors proved impossible to me. You will need to fix the report on the website itself.

3. Submit reports after you have synced every time. Do not try and submit a group of reports at once as you will almost certainly lose data,

4. Reports failed to sync or submit due to data connectivity issues about 25 percent of the time. Usually I could just redo the action and it would be fine. The other times data went missing.

Every thing was solvable but the app is not ready for major use. Fortunately almost all the issues revolved around have multiple shops in your inbox. Since the current offering of shops is limited to one, these jobs should work well with the app.
Personally that is 4 problems too many because they result in a duplication of effort. I have no desire to sit in a parking lot wasting time on a route only to have to redo any of the work when I get home.

Thanks for all the input. I really hope they get this app fixed as I'm a techie nerd and would love working like this....IF it worked properly.

It may be a mute point for me anyway. I submitted my app as soon as I got the email about these shops, but my app is still pending two days later...
I just used the app this week and had no issues with it.

The thing I like about it is that I can take pics of my reciepts, etc with my phone and upload right then. DOn't have to mess with hooking up phone and scanner to laptop to get my data from 5 different places.

I'm wondering what other companies I can use it with besides Measure CP.
It's presumably for any MSC that uses ShopMetrics, jf. I'll be using it for a shop with AboutFace.
I won't do any shop that requires Geo tracking - I recently quit a MS company because they require it. The problem I have with Geo tracking is that the tracking company is very vague about what they do with your information. The MS company might use the info only for that shop, but if you read the TOS for the Geo tracking you are giving them the right to use and reuse the tracking info they have on you.

No dice, Big Brother.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
That would be a bit tough for me. I did about 10 shops a month for this company. I would have to reinstall the app about ever 3 days.

I have found it's easiest to just view the full report input site in the mobile browser on my phone and not use the app.
