I've debated for a few months as to if I should relate the below experience and have decided if it can help but one shopper it's well worth a read.
As a competitive weightlifter, it's to my advantage to both closely monitor and regularly log my weight. The month I began shopping, Apr. of 2003, I weighed 216 lbs. at age 60. When in Jan. of 2006 I hit my max of 261 lbs. at 5'9", I became alarmed. Had my metabolism slowed to that extent? For an unknown reason, I never considered my radical increase in dining out to be the culprit.
In Sept. of 2010, still blind to the cause of my radical weight increase, I completed 10 Sonic's, 5 Church's, 3 Five Guys & Fries and 4 McDonald's. In addition, there were 3 Grater's Ice Cream visits and 5 other various casual eateries. In Oct., I was informed the Sonic contract had expired and in Nov,I was fired by Market Force.
Since that wonderful day 14 1/2 months ago, I've slowly, just as I had gained, trimmed 16 lbs. and 27 points off my blood pressure. I now realize fast food isn't for me and was in effect a slow poison to my health. One could state I had merely overdone the shops, to which I agree, but successful moderation has never been my strength. I haven't entered a fast food location in well over a year, with this year's project being the elimination of casual dining.
At Thanksgiving lunch of last year, I both remembered and gave thanks to Market Force. Had they not deactivated me, both my health and appearance would have probably continued to suffer.
