re: stopwatches vs regular watch with 2nd hand

Some of the shops I notice require a stopwatch and require timing several times doing the shop. Do you prefer stopwatches or regular watches with 2nd hand? Also, where can I purchase an inexpensive stopwatch should I decide to get one. Thanks.

I use the stopwatch feature on my cell phone. Before that, I would use a stopwatch.

I use a $7 digital timer. When I play back the session on my DVR at home, I time the various segments with the timer. I got that tip from Flash. My timer can count up or down, and I had originally bought it for laundry and cooking.
I picked up my digital watch at Walmart a couple of years ago for about $10. I have not yet had to change the battery. They weren't in the "good and better" watches case but rather with the cheapie stuff including kids' watches. What you want is one that has the stopwatch feature and numbers big enough to see them at a casual glance.

Bugs, my cell has a lap timer which should work great for mystery shopping but I can never get it to work right without having it out in my hand carefully watching what I am doing. I did a shop thinking I could control it in my pocket and totally blew up the timings. Luckily I was also wearing my DVR so was able to reconstruct the timings from that. The sick part is that the loud beep from the phone was my signal on the DVR to start and stop the timings. sad smiley
I use mine all the time especially at coffee shops, casual restaurants
and ff shops. course really easy w/drivethru. It is on my lap...or console in car.
Inside,I have it in my purse and do glance but usually because I have to put my change/receipt/cc away......just like when I get to counter I glance in purse to get my money/cc. Course, there are usually only 3 timings for ff shops and 2 for coffee shops....if I have more than 3 and/or need to record conversation....
....I use my DVR.

Now most casual restaurants, I have my phone on table or in purse and can do multiple timings as they really don't notice you looking at phone.......heck, with all the text messaging nowadays.......everyone is looking at their phones.

I was just thinking how many creative ways we can all do the same thing. Shoppers are so resourceful.

Except you, izzy. The shop requirements ask for a digital watch over $1.
Sorry sneaker, but I shop at the .99 cents store and there nothing it's over .99 cents, I paid sales tax and just cost me $ 1.07 total purchase, and it's working just fine...why pay more?
I like your green... dog? rabbit? or whatever it is.

I think it's a blue dog.

Your shop specified you must buy something $1 or more before salestax. You will not be paid for this shop.
I shop the $1.00 stores also. Wonder will they or do they have mystery shoppers. I love the $1.00 stores, there are so many around now. Almost a stores every couple of blocks. I have seen merchandising shops for Family Dollar. That is another place I like. The merchandising shops I have seen are very low pay and require too much of a mystery shopper.
sneakers, I see a aquamarine dog with blue nose, if you don't want to pay me for the shop, it's okay, next time I will buy a $ 75.000 watch. How about that?.LOL
