6 hour deadline

I had one that requested the report in 2 hours. I complied. I noticed later that the receipt had not been checked in hours....

So I wonder, if the receipt has not been checked, has the report been checked?

I normally don't complain about client guidelines but if a client or scheduler is reading this, please note that this is absolutely stupid. Why would you impose a 6-hour deadline to submit a report? I understand doing a shop in a certain window of time (i.e., between 9am-11 am only) yet if someone completes a shop at 10 am, then you are telling me that the shopper has to submit this shop prior to 4 pm? Or, even better: if it is done at 8 pm, then the shopper has to submit it prior to 2 am? As if you start the grading process at 2:01 am? Really?

Although this is my opinion, I really think that this is a very dangerous precedent being set by whichever company has clients that demand this. So if a 6 hour deadline isn't enough, why not make it 3 hours next time? Better yet, 90 minutes after shop completion? That's absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention that there are many shoppers that do routes and have other responsibilities that take priority rather than trying to rush a report prior to a 6-hour deadline.

Schedulers, please retort: does this make a huge difference in the quality of your reporting for the client? Or does this create more problems altogether?
I've submitted my reports past the 6 hour deadline a few times either because I was really busy or not feeling well that day. So far I've never been penalized. I guess the MSCs don't take their 6 hour deadlines that seriously.
I've been doing a lot for CRI and they do have a 6 hour deadline on everything. I'm only shopping 1 or 2 days a week so I'm trying to pack as many shops into each those days as I possibly can.

My solution has been to take a pic of my receipts with my cell phone and email it to myself. Then go to any McDonald's (they all have WiFi here) and use my laptop to do my reports after every 3rd or 4th shop. Deadlines are met without problems and when I get home I don't have so many hours of reports to do.

If my laptop had not recently gave out I would do that for a route I just saw near me. $140 in fees alone for gas stations if I could stay out overnight so 4 are one day and 3 the next as per company rules. However without my laptop I would not make the 12 hour deadline sad smiley I can not at this time justify the purchase of another laptop even though the one I would use is only about $250 taxes included...
The company with the 4 a day limit will not usually allow an extension on reports even when a shopper is traveling, but they are the only company I know of that would not. But, you may want to double check that report deadline. They have had several shops (and this may be one) which say 12 hours and 24 hours is the actual deadline. I don't remember how I was tipped off, but when asked they fessed upwinking smiley
